Within each sector, cases are sorted by case type: Draft technical regulation (DTR) Inspection Management task Notification Reporting Cases opened on the basis of a complaint alleging that the States are not respecting their EEA obligations. Cases opened to check whether national measures intended to implement EEA Acts conform to the content of the respective EEA Act. Cases opened following notifications submitted by the States of Draft Technical Regulations (according to Directive 98/34/EC) for scrutiny by the Authority before they enter into force. Cases opened at the Authority s own initiative to examine whether a breach of EEA law has occurred or not. Foodstuffs Management task Dietary intake of food additives According to Directives 94/35/EC, 94/36/EC and 95/2/EC on food additives, the States have the obligation to monitor the dietary intake of food additives. The Authority has been collecting data on intake estimates from the States. Foodstuffs Management task Pesticide monitoring - forward programme for 2005 The Authority shall receive the forward programmes on monitoring pesticides in 2005 according to Article 7.2(a) of Directive 86/362 and Article 4.2(a) of Directive 90/642 from the States before 30 September Foodstuffs Management task Adoption of an Empowering Decision in the field of contaminants in food Further to discussions with Jonas, it was decided that a new case will be opened in order to adopt an empowering decision (a recommendation will not be adopted for the time being, see event )297601). Foodstuffs Management task List of recognised natural mineral waters According to Article 1 paragraph 5 of Directive 80/777/ EEC a list of approved natural mineral waters is to be published in the Official Journal. A new and revised list is to be published following the enlargement of the EU. The States should evaluate whether amendments in their lists of approved products should be published

Foodstuffs Management task Nitrate monitoring in reports from States The States are obliged to send to the Authority the results of analysis of samples taken of spinach and lettuce for controlling nitrate content in these foodstuffs. The obligation is laid down in Regulation 466/2001 on contaminants, Article 3(2). The time limit for reporting is 30 June each year.
