4 CONSOLIDATED CONTRIBUTIONS. PAYABLE BY ANNUAL INSTALMENTS. (Decisions of 1935, 1936 and 1937 Assembly ). In accordance with arrangements made with certain member States consolidated contributions amounting to 8,420,082:83 gold francs are payable by inst:' lments spread over a period of years. Up to March 31st, 1938, the sum of 704, gold francs has been received, leaving a balance of 7,715,477:11 gold francs. This sum is payable by annual instalments over 10, 20, 40 and 45 years, according to the arrangements made with several States concerned. The annual instalment due for 1938 is 268,985:83 gold francs. 8 - 8 - V. RESERVE FUND. The Assembly at its sixteenth ordinary session ( ) adopted the following recommendation made by the Committee for Settlement of Contributions in Arrear: ' that, in future, all payments received in respect of financial periods preceding by two years or more, the current financial period should be paid into the Reserve Fund. Where payments are made in respect of more than one period, as in the case of certain arrangements proposed, the appropriation will be made proportionately." Gold francs. The amount paid to the Reserve Fund to March 31st, 1938, is... 6,508, VI. GUARANTEE FUND. On the proposal of the Supervisory Commission, the Assembly at its sixteenth ordinary session (1935) decided to create a Guarantee Fund from which it would be possible to make good any deficiencies in such credits, included in the budgets of the Secretariat and Permanent Court of International Justice, as were substantially reduced by the Assembly. For the year 1958, the Fund is at the disposal of the Secretary-General up to 1,550,000 Swiss francs and at the disposal of the comps tent authority of the Court up to 255,680 Swiss francs. Gold francs. The amount paid to the Guarantee Fund to March 51st, 1958, is... 2,277,252.44

9 - 9 - VII. RENOVATION ACCOUNT. On the proposai ->f the Supervisory Commission, the Assembly, at its 18th ordinary sessioh (1937) decided to set up an extra-budgetary account which could be used, subject to the previous decision of the Assembly for meeting the costs of repairs and especially of extensive renovations to buildings. The amount of this account as at March 31st, 1938, was 707, gold francs. VIII. ESTATE ACCOUNT. On the proposal of the Supervisory Commission, the Assembly at its 18th ordinary session (1937) decided to set aside a sum of 3,000, Swiss francs (2,121, gold francs) for the purchase of land adjacent to the Ariana Park. On March 31st, 1938, the transactions contemplated had not yet been completed and a sum of 921, gold francs remained in the account. A separate statement of the Revenue from these properties will be published with the annual accounts. IX. TECHNICAL COLLABORATION ' :H TH CHINA. SCHElCE 0^ :,NTI-EPIDEMIC ACTION The Assembly, at its 13th ordinary session (1937) decided to allot a sum of 2,OCC,000 S' iss francs for the Scheme of Anti-Epidemic Action in China. The cash balance on March 13st, 1938, was Swiss francs.
