Alberto Costa declared that he was a practising English and Welsh solicitor and a nonpractising Scottish solicitor, and that he had worked as a Treasury Solicitor and represented the Prison Service. Kate Green declared that she was a life member of the Magistrates Association. Victoria Prentis declared that she was a non-practising barrister and that she had been a Treasury Solicitor for many years, where she had worked with the Prison Service.

37 I was invited to be a Trustee ofthe Howard League for Penal Reform in late I accepted this invitation after my retirementfrom the Prison Service and took up mytrus-tee responsibilities in February I have recently been nominated to be the Chair oftrustees and ifagreed bythe remainder ofthe Board I will take up this- position at the end ofthis year. Time wise, my commitmentto the Howard League as Chair of the Trustees will be no more than 10 days a year. The position is unpaid but I can claim my travel expenses. I am also Patron of Choirs Beating Time, a small charity that promotes- choirs in prison. Again this is an unpaid position and takes up 2 days- a year ofmy time.
