2 LABOUR AFFAIRS NSA is a major employer organisation representing shipping companies with international trade and offshore contractors operating on the Norwegian continental shelf. Our members have around employees from more than 50 different countries. About 9000 of these are drilling rig offshore workers on the continental shelf and 6000 work on offshore supply vessels.

3 OUR SERVICES TO MEMBERS The department of labour and legal affairs is engaged in: establishing and maintaining collective bargaining agreements (CBAs) covering Norwegian and foreign seafarers on ships registered in the Norwegian and foreign registers, as well as offshore contractors and service companies on the NCS (ref. slide 4) development of national and international regulatory framework through participation in international and regional organisations such as the ILO, IMO, BIMCO, ICS and ECSA follow-up and services for member companies for the entire field of employment, including labour, tax, and maritime law, national insurance and social legislation, and petroleum, competition and insurance legislation legal assistance and advice to members in connection with negotiations and procedures in the Labour Court of Norway and the ordinary courts of justice. arranging seminars and conferences for HR personnel

15 CSR & ENVIRONMENT NSA has a proactive an ambitious zero-emission vision. The objective is for Norwegian shipping and offshore contracting activities to produce no environmentally harmful emissions or discharges to the air or sea. The route to zero-emissions is a long and tough one. As one of the world s most modern shipping nations, we are proud to take a lead in this work. The route to zero discharges going through the long and dedicated research and innovation. Through IMO, we are pushing for strict international environmental standards.

17 SHIPPING AND OFFSHORE SECTOR HIGH RISK FOR BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION Shipping companies operate in many jurisdictions with high levels of corruption; Shipping companies must regularly deal with foreign agents and government officials, increasing their exposure to corruption and demands for facilitation payments. Shipping companies often provide services to clients in the natural resources sector, which is an industry also susceptible to corruption risk. Transparency International Corruption Index

18 MARITIME ANTI-CORRUPTION NETWORK (MACN) Anti-corruption measures are an important part of our CSR work and NSA have established guidelines, an e-learning video and a CSR Forum and working groups on various topics.
