5 About this Manual 1 About this Manual The Genium INET Trading Workstation is part of Genium INET and is used by the members of the trading organization. This document describes how to manage the installation and related actions of all the components of the Genium INET Trading Workstation. 1.1 References For more information, please refer to the following document: Trading Workstation (TW) User's Guide The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc (16)

7 Prerequisites 2 Prerequisites In order to work with this application, you need the following: a PC that is equipped with hardware and software according to Genium INET requirements an OMnet account to be able to log in to the application a TCP/IP connection to the OMnet gateway machine the right to install the program (check with your system administrator). 2.1 Hardware Requirements The list below presents the minimum recommended hardware requirements: 4 GB RAM 3 GB free hard disk space Note: The above requirements are valid for the current release. They may change with later releases. 2.2 Software Requirements The list below presents the software requirements: Windows 7 64-bit with Service Pack Settings and Referenced Data Settings and reference data are stored in: APPDATA=C:\Users\[Windows User]\AppData\Roaming Live data are stored in LOCALAPPDATA=C:\Users\[Windows User]\AppData\Local LOCALAPPDATA should not be redirected to a share or similar. 2.4 OMnet Account Nasdaq creates an account for every Trading Workstation license. If you cannot log in to the application, check that: your workstation is set up at the central marketplace as a valid OMnet node. you are set up as a user with a valid log-in name and password. the application is configured to connect to a valid OMnet gateway and socket. 9 Installation 3 Installation This chapter assumes that you have logged in to Windows. 3.1 Installing Trading Workstation The following chapter will describe how to install Trading Workstation the first time: 1. Start the installation by running the applicable installation program for Trading Workstation. The following window is displayed: Figure 1: Welcome Window 2. Click Next. 10 Trading Workstation Installation Guide Figure 2: Select Installation Folder Window The installation program suggests a installation folder for the program. If you do not wish to use this folder, click Browse and select another installation folder. Click Disk Cost to get an overview of available local drives to use for the installation and to see if there is enough space for the application. Set application restrictions, that is, if Everyone or only you (Just Me) working with this computer should be able to run the application. If an older or newer version of the Trading Workstation application is already installed in the selected folder, the following warning message will appear: 10(16) The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc. 2014

11 Installation Figure 3: Older or Newer Version Exists in the Same Directory If you want to uninstall the existing version, click Yes. If not, click No and select a different directory. 3. Continue by clicking Next. The following window appears: Figure 4: Confirm Installation Window This is the last window before the actual installation begins. The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc (16)

12 Trading Workstation Installation Guide If you want to change any of the settings, click Back. Otherwise, proceed to the next step. 4. Install the application by clicking Next. The installation takes a few minutes. The following window is displayed while the program features you selected are being installed. 15 Logging On 4 Logging On Follow the procedure below to test for the successful installation of the application. 1. Start the application by selecting Start, All Programs, NASDAQ OMX, Genium INET Trading Workstation <version>. The Trading Workstation window opens (disabled) and the following log-on window is displayed: Figure 7: Log-On Window 2. Enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. You can select the appropriate username in the Username list. 3. Press ENTER or click Log on when you have entered all information in the dialog. A message box is displayed and the system starts downloading data, such as your own orders and all instruments for trading. Note: When you have become more accustomed to Trading Workstation, you may start opening windows and positioning them before the download is finished. When the download has finished all windows are enabled and you can start trading. When you want to exit the application, select Exit from the File menu. The NASDAQ OMX Group, Inc (16)
