No significant earnings releases are expected this week. Local Earnings Release Calendar JSE (HEPS ZAc) 2015/07/06 SCP Stellar Capital Partners Ltd 1H15 Earnings Release -- SSA corporate earnings releases to take note of this week include: Kenya Airways (Full Year Results): The national airline of the popular East African destinations has come under severe pressure as several travel advisories issued in the West following a spate of terrorist attacks, and the outbreak of the Ebola virus elsewhere on the continent negatively impacted on tourist arrivals. Competition has also been stiff and a fleet renewal programme also likely impacted on the bottom line. The company is 29.7% owned by the Kenyan Government, which has become increasingly frustrated with the airliner s financial misfortunes. Kenya Airways is expected to report a full year loss. Precision Air Services (Full Year Results): The Tanzanian airliner is expected to record another loss. Precision Air has struggled to contain soaring costs attributed mostly to a volatile Tanzanian Shilling and jet fuel prices over the last few years. Precision is partly owned by Kenya Airways. US banking giants JP Morgan, Bank of America, Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, and Citigroup will likely take centre stage. Johnson & Johnson is expected to report lower second-quarter sales and earnings figures as a stronger dollar would have weighed heavily on the multinational from a currency translation perspective. The second half of the week is expected to be dominated by earnings releases from Google, Philip Morris, and GE. 4 Japanese movie, theatre, real estate, and more recently gaming company, Toho Co, releases results this week. Asia-Pacific Summarised Earnings Release Calendar 2015/07/ JP Toho Co Ltd/Tokyo 1Q15 Earnings Release -- All eyes will probably be on Sweden this week within the region. Several Swedish banks will release earnings in the first half of the week, with car manufacturer Volvo set to report later in the week. Amongst the largest banks only Nordea Bank AB is expected to report a rise in 2Q earnings on a y/y basis. Earnings from Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB and Swedbank AB are anticipated to fall. There has been some excitement over Nordea recently after the share was upgraded to Buy/Overweight by several brokers including JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs.
