31 PrimaryCare Trauma Benefit Overview Member Journey Provides access to emergency private healthcare services for a broad range of traumatic events: + + Cover for medical evacuation services to the nearest private hospital facility in our network Access to medical treatment in a casualty facility in our network. Member will not have to pay upfront for these medical services Up to R per admission for hospital and related accounts, at a private hospital in our network Once the limit is reached and further medical treatment is required the member will be transferred to a public hospital o Member will be responsible for any costs over this limit if they choose to remain in the network facility Involved in a traumatic incident Call NetCare 911 for assistance NetCare arrives on the scene and contacts Discovery to confirm cover The following traumatic events are covered: Burns Head injuries Loss of an arm, hand, leg or foot Near drowning Poisoning or a serious reaction that may cause death Injuries resulting from a crime, sexual assault, a fall, a car accident or an injury at work Discovery confirms that Trauma benefit is active and that trauma event is covered Paramedics assess condition and decide on most clinically appropriate course of action If taken to private healthcare facility, stabilized in casualty facility, moved to in-patient hospital treatment (if required) then discharged or taken to state
