2 About PIB EMPLOYEE BENEFITS PIB is at the forefront of delivering and providing services and advice across the broad spectrum of employee benefits. 3 Our approach TO EMPLOYEE BENEFITS Having met and listened to your concerns/values, our experienced consultants will discuss with you their view of the market and their recommendations. This has been valued by the clients that have recently appointed us and reinforces the importance of the relationship which is a key point for us. We cannot make a recommendation unless we understand the issues that our clients are facing whether this be employee retention, recruitment, recognition etc. Using this approach, we can either review the benefits that are already in place with the suggestions of improvements/amendments or help design a well thought out benefits package that is appropriate for each company i.e. one size does not fit all.
4 EMPLOYEE BENEFIT services Workplace Pensions A pension is money you'll use to live on when you retire. Most people get a state pension from the government which covers your basic needs but it's also a good idea to save money in a pension fund in order to provide for a secure retirement. A workplace pension is often the most costly employee benefit that organisations offer and it is imperative that they are used effectively to reward and retain staff. Following the introduction of auto enrolment all employers will now have to offer access to a pension at work. Employers can benefit from healthier, more productive and engaged employees (whilst reducing the costs associated with absences) and employees benefit from the financial security and support (emotional and physical) that arise during a traumatic period or illness. Our Risk and Healthcare team provides a full range of consultancy services, advising you on appropriate benefits for your employees, whilst meeting the needs of the business. We undertake a full, independent review of the market to ensure that the benefits remain relative and are sourced on competitive terms to ensure that you are able to provide a benefits package that will be valued by your employees. Business Protection Many organisations already take steps to protect their business against major catastrophes however research shows that few business owners give enough thought to protecting against loss of their most important business assets - themselves and key employees. The death or critical illness of a key employee or business owner can have a major impact on a business. There are numerous types of protection you can obtain and each has its place as part of a business strategy: Shareholder Protection / Key Person Protection / Business Loan Protection / Relevant Life Protection. PIB will listen to your needs and devise an ongoing strategy to protect and enhance your business.
5 Benefit Communication The continuous changes in legislation mean that companies more than ever now need to meet their statutory duties but, at the same time, want to make sure they receive a return on their investment. Many organisations struggle with benefit harmonisation and communicating with a diverse workforce with differing needs. At PIB we will work with you to devise and implement a strategy that is unique to your situation. Voluntary & Online Benefits It is becoming increasingly common for employers to offer access to a suite of voluntary benefits. Employers can utilise their buying power to secure deals that are simply not available to individuals and can include benefits such as discounted gym membership and retail discounts. These benefits compliment an employer s paid benefits provision but with careful planning can add significant value to the employee/employer relationship. Online benefit systems help to bring together all the benefits in one place, assist in communication and give employees a choice of benefits that are relevant to them. A carefully thought out programme can be highly effective in the delivery of benefits. Salary Exchange Provisions Certain employee benefits attract preferential tax treatment; these include benefits such as pensions, cycle to work and child care. Under salary sacrifice arrangements an employee gives up part of their salary and, in exchange, the employer agrees to provide a benefit. Establishing benefits using this method can be highly tax advantageous for both the employee and employer. It is recommended that design and implementation of this arrangement should, however, only be considered following a full review of your benefits. PIB will work with you to source and implement the most effective approach.
