1 September 2016 VOLUME 19 NO. 4 New & Noteworthy COMING SOON! 2017 Annual Enrollment The 2017 Annual Enrollment period begins Monday, October 10 and ends at midnight on Friday, October 28. This edition of New & Noteworthy contains important information about what you need to know and do for There are several exciting benefit enhancements, including additional opportunities to earn incentive credits, 24/7 access to telephonic medical care, two new voluntary plans, and more. The health care elections you make during Annual Enrollment remain in place throughout the 2017 calendar year, unless you have a qualifying event, as defined in the 2017 Benefit Planner. If you want to make any changes to your benefit plan participation for 2017, or wish to cover an eligible dependent in 2017, you have until Friday, October 28 to do so. Please note that the benefits described in this newsletter may not apply to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement unless specified in the agreement, and that not all plans are offered at all business units. 2 2017 Benefit Plan Changes The chart below summarizes changes effective January 1, Please note that these changes may not apply to employees covered by a collective bargaining agreement unless specified in the agreement or required by the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act ( Health Care Reform ). PLAN WHAT S HAPPENING Medical Plans* Aetna HSA Medical Plan Aetna HealthFund HRA I Medical Plan Aetna HealthFund HRA II Medical Plan Aetna Choice POS II Medical Plan Aetna Elect Choice EPO Medical Plan Aetna PPO Dental Plan Aetna DMO Dental Plan Vision Care Plan Flexible Spending Accounts Teladoc: New telemedicine service offers 24/7 access to doctors for common medical concerns (see page 4 for more information) New incentives: Additional financial incentives are available for getting a biometric screening and participating in Active Lifestyle Coaching (see page 5 for more information) Increased HSA limit: The IRS has increased the annual Health Savings Account contribution limit for employee-only coverage to $3,400 Enhanced vision option: The new Basic Plus Buy-up Vision Care Plan allows new frames each calendar year and provides higher allowances for frames and contact lenses (see page 6 for more information) * This includes the following L-3 national medical plans: Aetna HSA Medical Plan, Aetna HealthFund HRA I, Aetna HealthFund HRA II, Aetna Choice POS II, Aetna Elect Choice EPO and Aetna Out-of-Area You MUST Certify Your Dependents Eligibility If you plan to cover your spouse or dependent child(ren) under an L-3-sponsored medical, dental or vision plan in 2017, you must confirm each dependent s eligibility for coverage with the Benefit Center during Annual Enrollment, even if your dependent has coverage in Coverage will terminate as of December 31, 2016 for any currently covered dependent whose eligibility has not been certified for If you plan to cover a dependent for the first time in 2017, you must complete the Dependent Eligibility Questionnaire and provide proper documentation, including a Social Security number for each dependent, or the dependent will not have coverage in See the 2017 Benefit Planner for more information about dependent eligibility and enrollment requirements. 2 Benefits Newsletter

3 What s Your Medical Plan Really Costing You? You may be in the Aetna Choice POS II or Aetna Elect Choice EPO Medical Plan currently because you like the convenience of paying a copay when you go to the doctor. To some employees, a plan with copays feels like a financially safer choice. As a result, they ve avoided L-3 s high deductible health plans the Aetna HSA and the Aetna HealthFund HRA Medical Plans because they re concerned the higher annual deductible and the absence of copays could translate into an unexpected, large medical bill. But if that s you, have you actually considered the real cost of these plans? The Aetna Choice POS II and Aetna Elect Choice EPO plans have the highest per-paycheck payroll contributions of any of L-3 s national medical plans. Consider that the average L-3 employee with Employee Only coverage who chooses the Aetna HSA over the Aetna Choice POS II Medical Plan in 2017 will be able to take the payroll contribution savings, use them to contribute the IRS maximum to their HSA and still have money left over. The savings are even greater for someone with Employee and Family coverage. In fact, if you re in the Aetna Choice POS II or Aetna Elect Choice EPO in 2016 and switch to the Aetna HSA or an Aetna HealthFund HRA in 2017, your payroll contributions will go down by thousands of dollars! That s actual added dollars in your paycheck, before you ve even incurred any medical expenses, for electing plans that use the same network and cover the same expenses! As you review your 2017 Benefit Planner and consider your medical options for the coming year, consider the big picture of health care costs, not just the amount you pay at the doctor s office. The right choice could save you thousands of dollars. Improved Health Plan Evaluator Tool The Decision Center on the L-3 Benefit Center website has interactive tools to help you make the best medical plan choice for you and your family. The Health Plan Evaluator uses your actual L-3 Aetna claim history and required payroll contributions to estimate your out-of-pocket health care costs under each available medical plan. Use the new slider bar to adjust your expected 2017 claims and look at how different scenarios a good year, a bad year, an average year, etc. impact your costs under each medical plan. The tool considers the In-Network deductible, coinsurance percentages, copays and, most importantly, your annual contributions. Wondering how someone like you chooses their medical plan what factors they consider, what tools they use and what decision they ultimately make? 4 Introducing Teladoc Medical Help Anytime, Anywhere It always seems to happen at the worst time: You wake up with a sore throat on the morning you re scheduled to leave for a business trip. Or, your child develops a rash when you re on vacation, miles away from the pediatrician. That s where Teladoc a new telemedicine service offered to L-3 employees comes in handy. Teladoc allows you and your enrolled dependents to have a virtual office visit without requiring a trip to the doctor s office. It offers 24/7 access to a network of U.S.- based, board-certified physicians by telephone or live, online video consultation. It s a convenient, cost-effective and time-saving alternative to the emergency room, urgent care center or your regular doctor for common medical concerns. How Does Teladoc Work? Simply request a consultation by web, phone or mobile app and you ll be connected to an available Teladoc physician. If the physician you consult with determines you need a prescription, he/she can submit it electronically to your pharmacy. After each consultation, there will be a summary of your consult in your Teladoc account, along with any follow-up recommendations from the physician. With your approval, this information can also be sent directly to your primary care provider. If you re enrolled in the Aetna HSA or Aetna HealthFund HRA Medical Plans, you pay $40 for each Teladoc consultation until you satisfy the annual deductible, at which point you pay coinsurance only. If you re enrolled in the Aetna Choice POS II or Aetna Elect Choice EPO Medical Plans, you pay $30 for each consultation the same as you pay for a primary care office visit. Either way, your cost will be considerably less than you d pay for an urgent care or emergency room visit. What Kinds of Illnesses Can Teladoc Treat? Teladoc works best for common medical issues, the kinds of non-emergency concerns for which you d usually visit your primary care doctor or an urgent care center things like cold and flu symptoms, allergies, rash and skin problems and urinary tract infections. You shouldn t use Teladoc in an emergency medical situation, when you need assistance for a chronic condition or for annual or routine physicals. Minor children can use Teladoc services only if a parent or legal guardian is available to participate in the entire consultation. Look for more information on Teladoc in your 2017 Enrollment Kit. Don t Forget to Hit Submit Once you ve made your 2017 elections on the Benefit Center website and are ready to make it official, read the Enrollment Disclaimer Statement section, check the box to confirm you read it and hit the Submit button to send your elections through. If you close your browser window before you see the message Your elections have been saved or if all you do is Save As Draft and never hit Submit your elections will not be recorded. If your new elections are not recorded, your current elections will carry over into 2017 at the Employee Only coverage level. You will not have any coverage for your dependents if you do not certify them and submit your elections. 4 Benefits Newsletter

5 Healthy Focus: New Incentive Credits for 2017 L-3 will provide additional rewards for eligible employees and spouses who show a commitment to their health in You and your enrolled spouse will have up to five opportunities to earn incentive credits. Active Lifestyle Coaching January 1 October 31, 2017 $50/person Condition Management* January 1 October 31, 2017 $300/person * Available to employees and spouses who have been invited to participate in the Condition Management Program only Two New Incentive Opportunities L-3 s 2017 Incentive Credit Program will include two new incentive activities: Biometric screening. Biometric screening height, weight, blood pressure and certain blood tests provides an overall profile of a person s physical health. The results are key to identifying early risk factors for heart disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome and other chronic conditions. Screenings can be completed at a Quest Patient Service Center, at your physician s office or onsite at your business unit (if offered). Results are strictly confidential; L-3 does not receive any individual biometric screening data. Active Lifestyle Coaching. Active Lifestyle Coaching is personalized telephone or online health coaching offered by ActiveHealth to encourage healthier behaviors and lifestyle choices. To earn the incentive credits, you or your spouse must complete two personal telephone coaching calls, participate in three online group coaching sessions or get 100 Heart Beats by completing digital, self-guided coaching modules (a maximum of 25 Heart Beats per week can be applied to your total). NEW! Track Your Progress at the Healthy Focus Total Rewards Center The new Healthy Focus Total Rewards Center is your convenient, online headquarters for staying motivated and on track to earn every incentive credit for which you are eligible. It provides a personalized overview of all the healthy behaviors you ve participated in, along with explanations of how you earn incentives and real-time updates when your activities are completed. 6 New Buy-Up Vision Care Plan Offers Enhanced Vision Benefits L-3 will offer a choice of two vision care options in 2017: Basic Vision Care Plan Basic Plus Buy-up Vision Care Plan. Both Plans are administered by VSP and help you pay for routine eye care, including eye exams, lenses, frames and contact lenses. The Buy-up Plan has higher allowances for frames and contact lenses, so your out-of-pocket costs will be lower, and covers new frames every calendar year, as shown in the following chart: BASIC VISION CARE PLAN BASIC PLUS BUY-UP VISION CARE PLAN Eye Exam $10 copay $10 copay Lenses (pair) $20 copay $20 copay Lenses Frequency Once each calendar year Once each calendar year Frames $175 allowance $250 allowance Frames Frequency Once every two calendar years Once each calendar year Contact Lenses* $175 allowance $250 allowance Contact Lenses Frequency Once each calendar year Once each calendar year * The Plans will pay benefits for prescription contact lenses or prescription eyeglasses. If you choose contact lenses, benefits become payable for frames the next calendar year following the date you obtained your contacts. GlobalFit: Get in Shape without Giving Your Wallet a Workout Beginning in January, L-3 employees and their families will have discounted access to over 9,500 national and local fitness facilities and programs. GlobalFit offers discounts up to 35% off on memberships at thousands of fitness centers nationwide, including Gold s Gym, LA Fitness, 24 Hour Fitness and Curves. Discounts are also available on weight loss programs such as Jenny Craig and Nutrisystem, as well as wearable fitness trackers and guided health coaching programs. Look for more information in January. FSA Store Offers Convenient Online Shopping WageWorks has partnered with FSA Store to offer a simple way to shop with your Health Care FSA or Dental and Vision FSA funds. The online FSA Store offers more than 4,000 FSA-eligible products everything from sunscreen and first aid supplies to contact lenses and toothpaste, and more with free shipping on orders more than $50. When you use your WageWorks card, transactions are verified automatically, so you don t need to worry about saving or submitting receipts. To get shopping, visit 6 Benefits Newsletter

7 Protect Yourself with New PersonalPlans Voluntary Benefits The two newest additions to the PersonalPlans Voluntary Benefits lineup help protect you financially if you or your covered dependents have an accident or if your pet needs veterinary care. These plans are offered at low group rates on an employee-pay-all basis, and administered by Mercer Voluntary Benefits. Look for more information in your 2017 Enrollment Kit. Accident Insurance. Accident Insurance, administered by Aetna, provides a cash benefit if you or your covered dependents have an off-the-job accident. You can use the money for everyday expenses or to help cover your medical plan s deductible, copays or coinsurance. Benefits depend on the plan option you choose Basic Plan or Enhanced Plan and the specific injuries incurred and procedures required as a result of your accident (e.g., ambulance, medical imaging, surgery, etc.). Veterinary Discount Plan: The Pet Assure Veterinary Discount Plan offers a 25 percent discount on all medical services received from Pet Assure participating network veterinarians and a 15 percent discount on online prescription orders. Additional discounts are available for various pet supplies and services. The Plan covers all animals in your household for one monthly cost, with no age or health exclusions. PersonalPlans Reminders If you are enrolled in, or thinking about enrolling in, any of the PersonalPlans, keep this in mind: The Hospital Income Plan, Critical Illness Insurance and Accident Insurance help provide a sense of security for high deductible health plan participants who worry about sudden, unexpected medical expenses. Group Universal Life (GUL) and Voluntary AD&D Insurance coverage continues automatically but does not display on the Benefit Center website or your Personalized Enrollment Worksheet. Group Legal Plan participation continues automatically. If you are enrolled in the Plan in 2016, your Plan participation will continue automatically in If you want to drop coverage, you must do so during Annual Enrollment. If you elect Identity Protection, you ll receive a Welcome Kit in the mail from InfoArmor. Log on to access the program and make sure to register your enrolled family members to activate the maximum protection available.
