2 Stay Connected with PEBA Facebook recently changed the way it populates your news feed. This may mean PEBA's updates don't show up easily or as often. Here are some tips from The Island Packet and The Beaufort Gazette to ensure you see the posts you want in your feed: Computer users: Go to PEBA's Facebook page ( If you see the word Like, click it once to turn it to Liked, then click again and choose See First and On. If you want to control how you're notified when we post something new, click the small pencil icon next to the word Notification and make your choices. If you see the word Liked, roll your cursor over it and then choose See First and On. If you want to control how you're notified when we post something new, click the small pencil icon next to the word Notification. For phone or tablet users: Go to PEBA's Facebook page ( Under the photo at the top, find the word Follow or Following or See First. If you see the word Following, click on it and then click See First. If you see the word Follow, click it and then click See First. If you see the words See First, you're way ahead of the game and don't need to do anything at all. MyBenefits MyBenefits is the fastest, most convenient way for subscribers covered by PEBA Insurance Benefits to manage their benefits. Fast - View, change or update information online Convenient - Get information from any computer, day or night Secure - Enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing your information is always secure Please go to Insurance (in the Blue line across the top) MyBenefits at the bottom of the left side blue column; Login or Register. If you registered previously then try to log in. You can get your password by hitting forgot password and following prompts. The BIN # or Benefits ID number is the numerical part of the number on your insurance card. Review Benefits - Check the coverage, who is on your coverage, Social Security numbers and dates of birth to make sure they are correct. You should also check your beneficiaries to make sure the person or persons you want to receive the money are listed. 3 Blue CareOnDemand Video Visits Beginning January 1, 2017, BCBS State Plan Members can consult a licensed health care professional 24/7/365 through the convenience of video chats. They will treat items such as: cold and flu symptoms, allergies, bronchitis and other respiratory infections, skin irritations, sinus problems, migraines and more! They can even write prescriptions when needed according to state regulations. Visit ndsc.com to register and download the app for your Apple or Android device and begin video chats with a physician as needed January 1, Adoption Assistance Available PEBA is pleased to announce the State Employee Adoption Assistance Program has been approved for fiscal year Eligible employees who finalized an adoption between July 1, 2015, and June 30, 2016, may apply for financial assistance relating to the adoption. Applications will be accepted from July 1, 2016, through September 30, The maximum amount for adopting a non-special needs child is $5,000, and the maximum amount for adopting a special needs child is $10,000. Eligible employees include permanent or probationary fulltime or part-time employees of any department, institution, board, commission, council, division, bureau, center, school, hospital or other agency of the state of South Carolina. Law enforcement officers and employees of public schools and special purpose districts are also eligible. Employees are required to participate in an insurance program offered through PEBA and be employed with an employer that participates in insurance programs offered through PEBA when the adoption is submitted, when the adoption is finalized, and when the benefit is paid. The financial assistance employees received through the Adoption Assistance Program is subject to federal income and FICA payroll taxes, but it is not subject to state income taxes. The employer is responsible for the employer payroll tax match. This amount is reported on the individual's W-2 form at the end of the year. The employee is responsible for calculating and paying any federal income taxes due as a result of the financial assistance. For an application, contact PEBA's Insurance Financial Services department at Good News Health, Dental, nor Vision prices are going up for the Employee in 2017.

New Hepatitis C Cure Value Program and Cholesterol Care Value Program available Requires all Hepatitis C and PCSK9 cholesterol medications to be filled through Accredo, Express Scripts specialty medication pharmacy. PEBA PERKS Diabetes Education: Learn ways to manage Diabetes by consulting with a health professional. Preventive Screening: Get screened for health risks such as high blood pressure and cholesterol. The tests are worth more than $350 and can be done at your workplace or at a nearby screening location. Colonoscopy: This procedure can find and remove colon growths before they develop into cancer. Benefits cover not only the colonoscopy, but also associated services. Adult Vaccinations: This benefit covers shingles, pneumonia, HPV and other CDC-recommended adult vaccines. Flu Vaccine: Protect yourself from influenza and lessen your symptoms if you do contract the flu with the vaccine. No-Pay Copay: Receive a year s worth of free generic drugs for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, congestive heart failure and diabetes by meeting the No-Pay Copay requirements. Tobacco Cessation: A Quit for Life health coach can help you make a plan and guide you through the steps to becoming tobacco-free. Medications for tobacco cessation are also available at no cost. 5 District Five Worksite Screenings District Five Schools offers one-stop comprehensive health screenings through the Prevention Partners Program for FREE. These biometric, preventive tests can detect risk factors for developing hypertension, diabetes, and anemia. The screening, a $350 value, is available for FREE for subscribers, retirees and their covered spouses enrolled in the state plans. (Medicare enrollees and dependent children are not eligible.) Blood Screening is comprised of a full Chemistry Profile, including but not limited to: Liver and Kidney functions, Electrolytes, Total Cholesterol, and Hemoglobin/Blood Count. For an additional copayment, you may request the following additional tests be performed: $10 Thyroid, 4 panel $22 PSA (Prostrate Screening test) $30 CA125 (Ovarian Cancer screening) $42 Homocysteine (amino acid found in the blood) $56 Vitamin D, 25 Hydroxy (plays a vital roll in overall health) $17 AVO Grouping/Tho(D) (Blood) Typing $57 Hemoglobin AIC (used to access glucose control for people with diabetes) Testing requires that you fast (refrain from eating) 12 hours before your test time. However, you should drink water and take any regular medications you are prescribed. There will be two separate screenings, both held at the Byrnes Freshman Academy, but you must attend the date your location is assigned. WORKPLACE SCREENING DATES November 8, 2016 January 16, 2017 Byrnes High School Elementary Schools Byrnes Freshman Academy District Office/Maintenance Middle Tyger Community Center Intermediate Schools Middle Schools First Steps Flu shots will be available FREE for Blue Cross Standard and Savings Health Plan Members at the District Office on the teacher workday, October 21, 2016 from 9-1. Ask your school nurse for sign-up details. You will need your Benefits ID # (BIN#) from your prescription card when you sign up. The Mobile Mammography Unit will be available the first Thursday of each month at Family Physicians on Hwy 290. (Make sure it has been a calendar year between mammograms to take advantage of this FREE benefit.) Call to schedule your appointment.
