TRIENNIAL CONFERENCE véæöêªá ðpà ÀªÉÄäüÀ À Saturday Shikshakara Sadana, Bangalore. ²PÀëPÀgÀ ÀzÀ À, ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ. 5 Triennial Conference of our State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune Our State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune was formed on e 29 October, 1995 and is in its 21st years. 20 anniversary was celebrated on e 30 October, 2015 at Mysore, along wi 70 Birday of our Senior Vice President, Shri H S Nanjunda Swamy. Previous Triennial Conference of our Commune was held on e 30 September, 2012.Next Conference, ough due on e 30 September 2015, it was ought at is more appropriate if Conference is held after securing five years notional service benefit to eligible VRS retirees. But, e decision of proposed merger/acquisition of Associate Banks wi/by State Bank of India, has changed e entire scenario. Central Committee of our Commune met on e 26 June, 2016 and deliberated on various issues connected wi merger issue. The Committee decided on various measures in view of proposed merger. Decision of impeding merger has also caused anxiety and uncertainty among our members. Since, is decision of merger warrants discussions, bring in clarity and decide on steps to be initiated by our Commune, it is decided by our Central Committee to hold next Triennial Conference of our Commune on e 17 September, 2016 at Bangalore. This Conference would be historic. Perhaps, it may be e last Conference of our Commune, when our Bank, State Bank of Mysore is in existence. This is e last opportunity to hear our Bank's Executives. If merger takes place, our Bank, State Bank of Mysore would not be in existence, when we conduct our 6 Triennial Conference. You can hear galaxy of leaders of our Bank, our Apex Organisation AIBRF, our Union - SBMEU, Our Association, ABOA SBM Unit and leaders oer Retirees' organisations. You would have opportunity to guide and advise leaders of our Commune, as to its future and functioning. You can set an agenda. You can tell em, what you want. Therefore, make yourself free to be a part of is great event. Please make necessary arrangements to attend is Conference, in large numbers. It is needless to mention at no TA/DA would be paid by our Commune. Central Committee of our Commune, assures members at is Conference would be 1 July

2 memorable. You would certainly enjoy every moment. You would return from e conference wi loads of pleasant memories. This provides an excellent opportunity to meet your friends from all over e Country, wi whom you had worked, after a very long time. It is time for chew your memories. Reception Committee : It was also decided to form a Reception Committee for e Conference. It was unanimously suggested and decided at e Chief Convenor of Reception Committee of is Conference is Dr. K Lakshmisha, our member, Director of our Bank and former General Manager of our Bank. Power packed Reception Committee would ensure at is conference would be a trend setter. High lights of is Conference : Presence of eminent Guests, Latest info by leaders, launch of new Schemes, Photo Exhibition, never before presentations, Conference kit wi loads of useful information, memorable events, meeting over one ousand of your friends, mou watering menu, feel of post merger situation and more, many more. Souvenir : Since, our Bank may not be in existence in e near future, Central Committee felt at ere is a need to bring out a Souvenir. A souvenir wi full information on history of our Bank, would be brought out. The desire of e Committee is to make is Souvenir a 'must preserve' document, as every effort would be made to carry every part of history of our Bank, State Bank of Mysore, as our Bank may only be in e pages of history. Out of e monies collected, our Commune would also be spending a portion for well deserving social causes. We appeal our members to put in 2 efforts to bring in maximum number of advertisements and ensure a good amount is collected out of ese advertisements. Please help your Commune to help you better. Photo Exhibition - Foot Prints of Mysore Bank family In e Annual General meeting of our Bank, it was suggested at a museum for posterity should be established. While Celebrating Centenary of our Bank, our Bank had also planned to organise a Photo Exhibition depicting history of our Bank. On account of several impediments, our Commune could not organise such an exhibition. Wi a view to achieve bo objectives, our Commune has decided to organise a photo exhibition depicting foot prints of our Bank and every oer organisation connected during 5 Triennial Conference of our Commune. Most of members of our Commune are a part of is journey and might have several photographs wi em, copies of which should form a part of is Photo Exhibition. Members of our Commune are requested to assist our Commune in collecting such rare and pertinent photographs. Please help our Bank and Commune in organising is exhibition. This help might make your photographs etched permanently. Please make is effort of show casing and preserving legacy successful. Please contact Smt. Shylaja Kumari, our Organising Secretary on Shradhanjali : June 2016 issue of Mysore Bank Shaayu has already reported at payment of Rs.15,000/- on unfortunate demise of a retiree may not continue post merger. 3 would continue to pay Rs.15,000/- as is paid by our Bank, now under Shradhanjali Scheme, rough a Trust formed by our Commune. Every member of our Commune who becomes a member of is Scheme, by paying one time amount of Rs.2,500/- would be covered under is Shradhanjali Scheme. This Scheme would be launched in 5 Triennial Conference of our Commune to be held on 17 September, A part of amount collected out of advertisements placed in our Souvenir would also be a part of Corpus of is Scheme. Please attend 5 Triennial Conference, to know furer. Diagnostic Charges for is year unchanged: Diagnostic Charges for is year is Rs.4,000/- for all former employees and Family Pensioners for is year. Part time Employees retired before Ten Bipartite Settlement dated provided for calculation of pension of ose who were working as Part time employees, retired on or after 1st September 1978, taking into account full leng of service, instead of pro-rata service. For Example : Thirty years of permanent service wi ½ wages is considered as 30 years of service now, instead of 15 years as considered earlier. On account of efforts of Shri S V Srinivasan, Deputy General Secretary, AIBRF sought clarification and direction in is regard. Rightly, IBA has now directed all member Banks to extend is benefit to ese retirees who have retired prior to from However, ey are not entitled to payment of Commutation on e increased portion of Basic Pension. In is regard, every member of our Commune is urged to identify and advise such Part time employees, who have retired prior to to claim is benefit. Such Part time employees, who have already retired are requested to contact functionaries of our Commune, in case ey require any clarification/ assistance. District Committee is formed at Davanagere : It was decided earlier by our Central Committee at District Committees would be formed at Districts, where members of our Commune are in large numbers. Our Commune has already formed District Committee at Tumkur. On e 25 June, 2016, a meeting of retirees residing at Davanagere was formed and over 65 of our members were present, even ough is meeting was organised in five days. Functionaries of our Commune participated and explained various queries. Medi Assist Cards were also distributed. A district committee was also formed at Davanagere on at day. Shri. Umesh Pai, Shri A Raghunandan and Shri. Ajikumar S Nyamai were elected unanimously as President, Vice President and General Secretary of Davanagere District Committee of SBM Pensioners' Commune. VRS 5 Years Case at Supreme Court : It was reported at e SLP 15640/2013 is likely to heard on e 8 July, Unfortunately, is case was not listed on at day. Advocate who is appearing on behalf of members of our Commune has informed at during fist fifteen days of reopening of Hon'ble Supreme Court, cases which are at preliminary stages are only listed/heard. As our case is ready for final hearing, is batch of SLPs filed by our Bank is likely to be heard shortly. Members of our Commune would be informed of developments. 3 July

4 Questionnaire Please return duly filled in : A Questionnaire is attached. Members of our Commune are requested to retransmit is questionnaire after filling in details, immediately. This would help our Commune to understand and initiate necessary action / changes / improvements. Summary of information received from our members would be included / addressed in General Secretary's report. Members of our Commune are requested to feel free and fill in required information, wiout inhibition. This would help our Commune to help its members. IBA Medical Insurance Scheme : Our members are requested to provide complete details of Claims pending, if any for a period in excess of 30 days in writing to our Office, immediately. This would enable functionaries of our Commune in assisting in early claim settlement. This is as suggested in previous issue of Mysore Bank Shaayu. Our Commune's Office is shifted : Our State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune was functioning from e first floor of Bangalore Branch for a decade. Our Commune was proud at it is functioning from e space provided by our Bank, State Bank of Mysore. It was one place, where many of members find solace, support and a place to meet old friends. Many of members who visit Office of e Commune used to churn eir ever lasting memories of working years, while sipping a cup of Coffee. But, it was unfortunate at e Office is in e first floor. Climbing 46 steps was certainly a challenge for Senior Citizens, especially when age related issues cause impediments. It was a long standing desire of members of our Commune at it would be more helpful, if office of our Commune is in e ground floor. Concerted efforts of functionaries of our Commune for a space in e Ground Floor for its Office have fructified. Our Bank is considerate. Top Executives of our Bank are sympaetic. They empaise wi problems faced by senior and very senior citizens. Their empaies and sympaies for our Bank retirees and our concerted efforts culminated in our Office moving from first floor of Bangalore Branch to Ground Floor in BKG Complex, our Head Office Compound. Now, every member of our Commune can visit office of our Commune, wiout any difficulty. There are no steps to claim. There is no difficulty to visit Commune's Office. This also means our Bank has understood problems of Senior Citizens in climbing stairs and recognised concerns of our Commune. Every member of over 4500 members of our Commune ank Management of our Bank, but for which members of our Commune would have continued to climb stairs, which was impossible for many of em. Members of our Commune are now free to visit our Office at : State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune, Ground Floor, BKG Complex, Avenue Road, Bangalore Extension number of our Commune, 427 remains unaltered. 4 July

5 SOUVINER APPEAL Wi deep gratitude to retirees and pensioners of State Bank of Mysore, we, on behalf of State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune look back wi immense pleasure its service and stupendous grow during last two decades. Our Commune, since its inception in 1995, our Commune is in e forefront in securing legitimate benefits and striving to improve life of its members, rough various programs and wi utmost dedication. Our Bank, Bank of Mysore Ltd. was founded on e 2nd October, 1913, by Sir M Visveshwariah under e patronage of H H Shri Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar. It was and was nationalised and became a subsidiary of State Bank of India in e year 1960 and rechristened as State Bank of Mysore. Now, acquisition of is great institution would be acquired by State Bank of India and it would remain only in pages of history. Under is circumstances, our Commune is holding its 5 Triennial Conference on 17 September, 2016 at Shikshakara Sadana, Bengaluru. Perhaps, is would be e last Conference of our Commune, during e existence of our Bank, State Bank of Mysore. On is occasion, our Commune is bringing out a Souvenir. The Souvenir would be printed in multicolor art paper/ Board ensconced in eyecatching cover page. The Souvenir is expected to have wide circulation amongst our more an 4,500 members, oer Banks' retirees, employees of State Bank of Mysore and oer Associate Banks. Needless to mention at articles on varied topics interesting to Bank employees, present and past, shall find a place in e Souvenir besides messages of Top Executives of our Bank, State Bank of Mysore, Leaders of our Apex Organisation, AIBRF and highlights of milestones of e OUR Commune as well. Proceeds of is Souvenir would be utilised for Social Causes including contribution to a Trust which would pay amounts to members of family of our members upon dea eir dea, under 'Shradhanjali' scheme. A portion of is amount would also be used for activities of our Commune. We, on behalf of State Bank of Mysore Pensioners' Commune turn towards members of our Commune and eir friends who are eir well wishers, benevolent donors and esteemed organizations, wi an appeal, to extend eir full support and patronage, by booking suitable advertisements in our upcoming Souvenir and make e occasion ever memorable.
