3 HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT (HSA) Employees who elect the higher-deductible health insurance plan receive additional funds from Eau Claire County to be used towards health-related expenses You may elect to contribute additional funds to your account from your paycheck, pre-tax Your HSA funds are yours and roll-over each year Click here for more information

11 SHORT-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months If elected, coverage begins on the first day of the month following hire Premiums are paid with after-tax dollars, so benefits are not subject to federal income tax This benefit covers employees on and off the job Benefits are payable through 13 weeks of disability Click here for more information
12 LONG-TERM DISABILITY INSURANCE Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months If elected, coverage begins on first day of the month following hire Premiums are paid with after-tax dollars, so benefits are not subject to federal income tax Covers employees on and off the job Benefits are payable to Social Security Normal Retirement Age Click here for more information
13 TERM LIFE INSURANCE Available to regular employees working 24+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for least at one year If elected, coverage begins the first of the month following 30 days of employment One times previous year s WRS earnings, rounded to the next higher $1,000 Additional, supplemental, spouse and dependent coverage available
14 WHOLE LIFE INSURANCE Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months Premiums never increase and you can continue coverage post retirement or leaving your employment with the County
15 DEFERRED COMPENSATION Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months Pre-tax, automatic payroll contributions to save for retirement through Nationwide Retirement Specialists May contribute from $10 per pay period up to 100% of pay, but no more than the annual limit established by the IRS Benefits are subject to income tax. 16 ROTH IRA Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months After-tax, automatic payroll contributions to save for retirement through Securities America May contribute from $25 per pay period up to 100% of pay, but no more than the annual limit established by the IRS Benefits are not subject to income tax and earnings grow tax-free. There is a penalty for withdrawing early.
17 COVERDELL EDUCATION SAVINGS ACCOUNT Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months Enables you to save for your education or for a beneficiary using automatic payroll contributions Can be used for elementary and secondary school as well as higher education costs May contribute from $25 per pay period up to $2000 per year Funds are not subject to federal taxes
18 EDVEST Available to regular employees working 20+ hours per week and temporary employees working 30+ hours per week for at least three months Enables you to save for your education or for a beneficiary using automatic payroll contributions Funds may be used for higher education costs May contribute $15/month up to the maximum allowable contribution limit set by Wisconsin Funds are not subject to federal taxes and WI residents can claim tax credit for contributions on WI income tax return
