The mark allocation of each question will determine the length of your answer. Give enough facts to earn the marks allocated. Don't waste time by giving more information than required. 7. 3 ANSWER ALL THE QUESTIONS (75 MARKS) QUESTION Soul CD is having a sale. All CDs are reduced by 18% and all DVDs are marked down by a ⅓. Calculate the following: If CDs were marked at R180, how much will you pay for them while they are on sale? (3) If all DVDs were R210, calculate what their sale price will be. (2) 1.2 During the holidays Peter spent 2½ hours gardening. He spent 50 minutes mowing the lawn, 30 minutes trimming the edges, 45 minutes weeding and the remainder of the time watering the flowers. What fraction of the time (in percentage form) did Peter spend: mowing the lawn? (2) watering the flowers? (2) 1.3 Naledi has been asked to bake 80 blueberry muffins for a school function. 4 1.4 The mothers of two teenagers calculate their daughters' Body Mass Index annually. Jane who lives and grew up in London weighs 92 pounds and is 58½ inches tall, while Naledi who lives and grew up in Soweto weighs 49 kg and is 1,65 metres tall. Both are 15 years old Use the conversion table in Addendum A to calculate Jane's height in metres, correct to THREE decimal places.
