3 INTRODUCTION THE UK PROPERTY INVESTORS DIRECTORY 2010 EDITION The directory is a one-stop reference guide to the UK commercial property investment market. The directory is published in hardcopy, PDF and Excel formats. The two electronic formats are supplied on the accompanying CD-ROM, attached to the inside front cover of the blue folder. The directory is broken down into five principal sections: Market Statistics Property Investors Investment Agents Buyers & Sellers Investment Transactions Market Statistics provides a comprehensive time series of UK commercial property investment transactional statistical data starting from It reports proprietary data for the UK market by sector and investor and includes unique information on transaction volumes, capital flows and initial yields. Also within this section are league tables for the leading 100 buyers and sellers of UK commercial property during 2009, as well as the current top 100 property companies listed by net worth. The Property Investors section contains detailed profiles on property companies and funds operating within the UK commercial property investment market. In the 2010 edition there are profiles for 1150 private and quoted property companies and for 250 institutional investors. Information includes addresses, s, investment personnel, financial results and comment on current and future investment strategy. The Investment Agents section provides a regional listing on over 1000 surveying firms acting for investors within the UK commercial investment market. The directory includes an index of over 5,000 individual purchases and sales made by named investors during the last two years. There is also a separate index of buyers by key market sectors. The last section of the directory is a detailed geographical listing of UK commercial investment deals, during the last two years, with a total value of over 49.6 billion. About Property Data Property Data was established in 1991, and is a specialist information business supplying independent market data on the UK commercial investment, development, housebuilding and retail property sectors. In 2001 the company created a league table recording the total value of investment deals carried out by the leading surveying firms. To ensure their position was correctly reflected in the table, agents began to submit their deals, importantly this included many that had not previously appeared in the public domain. During the last eight years Property Data's investment service has become the acknowledged market leader in UK commercial investment transaction capture. This transaction data has been uniquely coded allowing a completely new analysis of the UK investment market. Since 2000 Property Data has recorded 20,263 UK commercial investment transactions with a total value of 370 billion (31/12/09). Property Data's research on transaction volumes and capital flows is now relied upon by all sections of the commercial property investment industry and regularly appears in the Estates Gazette, Property Week and Financial Times, and on Bloomberg and Reuters. Property Data are members of the Data Publishers Association, the Investment Property Forum and the Society of Property Researchers.
