4 Before You Begin This document contains information on the changes made in Tax since the Reckon APS Tax release. Reference Numbers Items in this document may be prefixed by a reference number. From time to time a Reckon staff member may advise a numeric reference to an outstanding issue or enhancement request. Once that change has been released, the release notes document will include the reference and an explanation of the change. 5 ATO changes and enhancements ELS specifications updated to The ELS specifications have been updated to version This was a minor release where the ATO included a margin of error for some edit tests that affect the small business offset. Client Update fields now available in the Tax Data Extractor #18603 More of the fields from the Client Update form have been made available in the Data Extractor. Default name changed for the export of activity statements #21532 Previously, when exporting an activity statement to a file, the default name of the form was referencing the first month of the quarter. This has been changed to now show the name of the last month of the quarter. ATO due date field now available for Desktop Super returns #17958 The ATO due date field is now available for Desktop Super forms. Issues addressed Integrity Check not pushing values into the return #21540 In some instances the values that were selected in the Integrity Check were not being pushed through into the return. This has been corrected and these values will now appear correctly in the return. Printing issues in the Individual form fixed #21625 Your sex was printing on the front cover. #21643 Small business offset was not showing on the estimate. #21878 Home address was not printing the country for overseas addresses. Printing issues in the Company form fixed #21810 Item 7 Other assessable income heading was printing twice. #21796 PAYG instalments not all printing in the Additional Information worksheet. V2830 error appearing for some small business offset tests #21397 Some returns were getting a V2830 error message on validation. This was due to a half cent rounding issue. This has now been corrected in Tax and also the test has been modified by the Tax Office to allow for rounding issues. Reckon Limited PAGE 5 OF 6

6 Completion code was rolling forward #21576 For clients who are using completion codes to manage their lodgements, the code was rolling forward from the 2015 return. This has been fixed and any return opened for the first time after installing will not roll the code forward. Note for any returns opened before the code will still be there until the return is completed. Rollover including values for D9 and D10 #21456 In there were some values that were rolling forward into D9 (gifts or donations) and D10 (cost of managing tax affairs). This has been fixed and these values will not appear in the 2016 return. Any values that had already rolled over will still need to be deleted from the return. PAYG module fixes #22023 Can t find DataPlace with TagName error has been corrected. #21834 No scenarios were appearing in the PAYG module. The values from the return should now integrate with PAYG correctly. Contact Name appending?? to the end of the name #22031 In some cases, the contact name was appearing with?? appended to the name. This has been fixed and the name will now appear correctly. Notes created within the tax return are not formatting correctly #21609 Any note created in Tax was not retaining the formatting and was printing in one long paragraph. This has been fixed and the note will print as entered. Monthly activity statement for June showing as M15 #21906 In some cases activity statements for June were showing in Tax Manager as M15. This has been fixed and will now reference the correct month 12. Decline in value not added to total operating costs for motor vehicles #21812 The total operating costs of the motor vehicle was not including decline in value. This has been fixed and the decline in value will correctly flow through to the motor vehicle section. Some read-only returns were asking to Save changes upon closing a return #21696 After opening some returns that were read-only, users were being asked to Save changes on exit of the return. This has now been corrected. This internal error will not have affected the saved data in the return. Reckon Limited PAGE 6 OF 6
