1 SHELL CANADA LIMITED 2015 CUSTOMER APPRECIATION EVENT GIVEAWAY OFFICIAL RULES 1. GENERAL: No purchase necessary to enter or win. A purchase will not improve your chances of winning. Contest void where prohibited by law. Participation in the Shell Canada Limited 2015 Customer Appreciation Event Giveaway Contest (the Contest ) constitutes each entrant s full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Official Rules and any additional terms and conditions specific to the Contest communicated by the Sponsor (or its authorized representatives). By participating, entrants agree to be bound by the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding on all matters relating to the Contest. 2. SPONSOR: The Contest is sponsored by Shell Canada Limited, 400 4th Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2P 2H5 (the Sponsor ). 3. ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) who are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in the entrant s Province or Territory of legal residence) as of October 22, To be eligible to win a, a potential winner must not be: (a) an employee, director, officer, or a retiree of the Sponsor or its affiliated companies, agents, divisions, or franchisees, its respective advertising or promotional agencies; (b) an employee, director, officer or retiree of any Shell retail site, or (c) any of the above individuals Immediate Family (regardless of where they live) or a person who is domiciled with the individual (whether related to the individual or not). In these Official Rules, Immediate Family means spouse, parent, child, sibling (including foster and step-relations), and their respective spouses. 4. CONTEST PERIOD: The Contest begins at approximately 7:10 a.m. on October 22, 2015 and ends at 2:40 p.m. on October 22, 2015 (the Contest Period ). All references to time in these Official Rules shall be a reference to Mountain Standard Time. 1

HOW TO ENTER: At approximately 7:10 a.m. on October 22, 2015 Sponsor will reveal via its Twitter account and/or radio advertisements the location of the first Shell retail site that will participate in the Contest. The Shell Twitter account may be accessed A total of five (5) Shell retail sites will participate in the Contest at various times throughout the Contest Period. Each Shell retail site will participate in the Contest for a window of approximately forty (40) minutes (each an Entry Window ). The location of each participating Shell retail location and the corresponding Entry Window will be revealed via Shell s Twitter account and/or radio advertisements (each an Announcement ); provided that the location of each participating Shell retail site will remain secret until the Announcement is made. A maximum of forty (40) entrants will be eligible for the chance to win a during each Entry Window; provided that fewer entrants may be eligible for entry depending on the entrant processing time required during each Entry Window. Limit of one (1) entrant per Motor Vehicle during each Entry Window. For clarity, in the event that a Motor Vehicle contains more than one occupant, only one (1) occupant will be eligible to enter the Contest for the chance to win a. For purposes of this section, Motor Vehicle shall include any passenger vehicle that requires gasoline or diesel fuel in order to operate. No fuel purchase required for entry. Upon arrival at the participating Shell retail site during the applicable Entry Window, each eligible entrant will be offered the opportunity to choose a playing card from among an initial forty (40) cards. Once a playing card is chosen, this card will be electronically scanned by a representative of Sponsor, following which a will be revealed. Thereafter, a representative 2

3 of Sponsor will confirm in writing on the playing card the details of the and the potential winner may proceed to the pump to receive $50.00 of Shell fuel which shall be redeemed on site at the time of prize fulfillment or $50 Shell Canada Gift Cards may be provided in lieu of fuel upon request. Each potential winner will be required to (a) correctly answer, within a limited time period, unaided, a three-step mathematical skill-testing question; (b) confirm eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules (the Sponsors reserve the right to request proof of identification, in the form of government-issued ID, to confirm that eligibility requirements have been met); and (c) sign and immediately return a waiver and release in the form requested by Sponsor. 8 Parties ) from and against any and all liability for any threatened or actual injuries, loss, or damage of any kind to person, including death or disability, and property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in this Contest or acceptance, possession, use, or misuse of a, participation in any Contest-related activity or inability to participate in parts thereof including, without limitation, claims, suits, injuries, losses and damages related to personal injuries, death, damage to or destruction of property, intellectual property infringement, violation of the rights of publicity or privacy, defamation or portrayal in a false light (whether intentional or unintentional), whether under a theory of contract, tort (including negligence), warranty or other theory, and whether or not caused in whole or in part by the negligence of one or more of the Released Parties. Entrants covenant not to sue any Released Party or cause them to be sued regarding any matter released above; and further covenant not to disaffirm, limit, or rescind this release. A waiver by Sponsor of any term in these Official Rules does not constitute a waiver of any other provision. 10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: In no event will the Released Parties be responsible or liable for any damages or losses of any kind, including indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of this Contest. Without limiting the foregoing, Sponsor has not made, and Sponsor is not responsible in any manner for, any warranties, representations or guarantees, express or implied, in fact or law, relating to any, including but not limited to, mechanical condition, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. The Sponsor accepts no responsibility for loss, damage or claims caused by or resulting from the Contest or acceptance of a. The Sponsor will not be responsible for lost, falsified or destroyed playing cards, nor for a failure of any potential winner to contact Sponsor, for any reason whatsoever, within the time frame outlined in Rule 8, and all such playing cards are void. Playing Cards that have been falsified, tampered with or altered are void. The Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for technical malfunctions, human or technical error, printing errors, administration of the Contest, lost or stolen playing cards or transmissions, interruption, defect or failures of any computer lines or networks, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof which may impede a entrant from being declared a winner and Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for a failure or delay by the potential winner to identify him or herself as required by Rule 8. In the event it is determined that an entrant or potential winner has obtained a playing card in a fashion not sanctioned by these Official Rules, the entrant or potential winner will be disqualified. 8

9 The Sponsor reserves the right, to terminate or suspend all or part of this Contest or to amend the Official Rules at any time and in any way, without prior notice. Without limiting the foregoing, if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel the Contest. The Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any problems, errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest. Sponsors further reserve the right to disqualify any individual it suspects, in its sole discretion, to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest, to be cheating, or acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner. 11. PRIVACY: Neither the Sponsor nor its affiliates will use or disclose entrants personal information except for the purpose of administering the Contest and as otherwise expressly set out in the Official Rules. The Sponsor will not attempt to contact an entrant for any other purpose than to administer the Contest unless the entrant has opted-in to receive relevant product-related communications from the Sponsor.
