1 Climate Change Adaptation for Strata and Community Title Complexes Project funded by the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility. For ease of exposition, the term 'strata title' is used throughout this questionnaire to refer to 'strata and community title. Please click on appropriate box or circle: Part 1 - General background information What is the nature of your engagement with the strata title sector? Government Recommendation 2: Lower the decision threshold for approving changes to strata titled complexes for weather event resilience adaptation works from 75% or 100% to a majority decision. 6 Part 3 - Disaster Management (DM) Plans Appraisal of s For each of the following s, indicate the extent to which, if they were acted upon, they would facilitate the management of a strata title complex if it were to suffer significant climate related damage. Recommendations Directed to Government Government focussed Disaster Management Recommendation: Establish a concept of emergency status for strata title complexes which would signify a change in governance requirements during an emergency to deal with the different circumstances confronted by a building, owners, executives and managers. Recommendations Directed to Owners Executive Committees Owners Executive Committee focussed Disaster Management Recommendation: There should be a legal requirement for all strata title complexes above a certain size to develop and communicate an emergency evacuation and management plan for implementing before, during and after significant climate change weather events and related building damage. Recommendations Directed to Resident Managers Resident Manager focussed Disaster Management Recommendation: A contractual requirement of strata title buildings above a certain size should be to require resident managers to complete a disaster management response training course and to coordinate the activities of a building (evacuation, etc) in the event of a weather related disaster occurring.
