2 SmartTraveller Insurance for Individuals and Families It is important to select the right travel insurance, while planning for international business trip or overseas holiday with your family, since illness, injury, cancellation of trips, loss of important documents or financial emergency are among the few risks that need to be covered. 4 Who is eligible for this policy? This policy covers persons in the age group of 3 months to 85 years for Non-Schengen Products For Schenegen products the eligible age group is 3 months to 60 years For Annual Multi-trip Products the eligible age group is 3 months to 70 years Persons in the age group of years (for Non-Schengen Products) and age group of years (for Annual Multi-trip products)will be underwritten based on merits of the case Policy can be issued to an individual and/or family as a Family Floater which includes Insured, spouse and 2 dependent children below 23 years of age All Citizens of India and permanent residents of India as well as expatriates or foreigners who are holding an employment pass, dependant pass or work permit and residing in India

5 What does the policy cover? 1. Medical Expenses inclusive of Repatriation and Emergency Medical Evacuation 2. Dental Care Expenses: Payment of medical expenses related to acute anaesthetic treatment of a natural tooth or teeth during a trip. 3. Personal Accident: Payment of compensation if the Insured sustains accidental bodily injury during a trip resulting in death or Permanent Total Disablement or Permanent Partial Disablement within 12 months of occurrence of such injury. 4. Accidental Death & Permanent Total Disablement - Common Carrier: Payment of compensation if the accidental injury to the Insured Person results in loss of life or permanent total disablement while riding as a passenger including boarding or alighting from any common carrier. 5. Daily Allowance in case of Hospitalisation: Payment of daily allowance for the days the Insured is hospitalised beyond a specified number of days, as mentioned in the Policy Schedule, for which a valid claim is admissible under the Policy whilst on a trip abroad.

6 What does the policy cover? 6. Compassionate Visit: Reimbursement of round trip and stay expenses of the immediate family member to visit the Insured if he/she is hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days. Reimbursement of return fare of the Insured to visit the native place in case of the immediate family member (spouse, dependent children or parents) being hospitalized for more than seven consecutive days in India or in the event of death. 7. Loss of Passport, travelers cheques, traveling tickets/documents: Reimbursement of actual expenses incurred in connection with obtaining a duplicate or fresh passport or reasonable cost of replacing/obtaining the stolen documents/ tickets if the passport belonging to the Insured / Insured Person be lost. 8. Delay or Total Loss of checked-in baggage: Payment of compensation for reasonable expenses incurred for the purchases of toiletries, clothing and medication due to a delay in checked-in baggage or payment towards total loss of checked baggage caused by a common carrier. 9. Trip Delay: Reimbursement of additional expenses if trip is delayed beyond a period, due to airline problems, medical problems, personal employment problems or natural disasters.

7 What does the policy cover? 10. Trip cancellation & interruption: Payment towards the non-refundable prepaid payments or the additional expenses incurred on the trip being cancelled or interrupted due to medical problems, personal employment problems or natural disasters. 11. Missed Connection: Payment allowance towards additional expenses incurred, upto the limits of Sum Insured if the confirmed onward connecting flight is missed at the transfer point by the Insured/ Insured Person due to the late arrival or cancellation of the incoming confirmed connecting scheduled flight. 12. Personal Liability: Compensation for liability towards damages paid/payable to a third party, resulting from death, injury or damage to health or property caused involuntarily by the Insured. 13. Financial Emergency Assistance: Arrangement for emergency cash to be made available to the Insured in case of loss of the travel funds due to theft, mugging, robbery and dacoity. 14. Hijack Distress Allowance: Payment of distress allowance in case of hijack of a common carrier for more than certain number of hours whilst on the trip. 15. Home Fire & Insurance Contents: Cover against any loss or damage of the Contents at Home of the Insured in India, caused by Fire and Allied perils or through burglary and/or housebreaking while the Insured is on a trip abroad.

8 What does the policy cover? 16. Loss of Deposit or cancellation - Hotel and Airline: Compensation for loss of irrevocable deposits or charges paid in advance in case of, necessary and unavoidable cancellation of Hotel and Airline booking. 17. Overbooked Flight: Provides for indemnifying the Insured/ Insured Person for the expenses incurred, if denied boarding of an aircraft on a commercial scheduled flight due to over-booking. 18. Bail Bond: Provides for payment of bail amount on behalf of the Insured if he/she is arrested or detained by Police or Judicial authorities, for any bailable offence whilst on a trip abroad. 19. Legal Expenses: Payment of legal costs and expenses incurred by the Insured towards claims from third Parties for compensation in respect of death or disablement arising due to an injury whilst on a trip abroad. 20. Emergency Accommodation Payment of compensation for the additional cost of emergency accommodation if the Insured/ Insured Person could not stay in the accommodation originally booked due to fire, flood, earthquake, storm, hurricane, explosion, outbreak of major infectious diseases.

12 General Exclusions 1. In respect of Medical Expenses (inclusive of Repatriation and Emergency Medical Evacuation), Daily Allowance in case of hospitalization, Compassionate Visit benefits, the following will not be payable for Any pre-existing condition, Routine examinations, Expenses for rest or recuperation at spa/ health resort/ sanatorium, Pregnancy (including childbirth, miscarriage, abortion or related complications ) or treatment relating to the removal of physical flaws or anomalies (cosmetic treatment or plastic surgery). 2. Cosmetic surgery, unless such cosmetic surgery is rendered medically necessary as part of treatment for accidents and burns whilst being abroad. 3. Suicide, attempted or wilfully self inflicted injury or illness, mental disorder, anxiety, stress or depression, venereal disease, alcoholism, drunkenness or the abuse of drugs, or any loss arising, directly or indirectly, from any injury, illness, death, loss, expense, or other liability attributable to HIV and/or any HIV related illness including AIDS and/or any mutant derivative or variation thereof however caused. 4. Treatment which could be reasonably delayed until the Insured s return to India, which will be decided jointly by the treating Physician and the Emergency Assistance Service Provider and shall be in accordance with accepted standards of medical care.

13 General Exclusions 5. the Insured taking part in naval, military or air force operations; war and nuclear perils. 6. Insured engaging in air travel unless he or she flies as a Fare Paying passenger in an aircraft licensed to carry passengers. 7. Participation of the Insured in winter sports, mountaineering and such other professional sports or any other hazardous or potentially dangerous sport for which the Insured members are adequately trained, physically fit and using proper equipment. and that too only if specifically agreed and mentioned in the policy schedule. 8. Hazardous occupation, or if engaged in any criminal or illegal act. 9. Medical Expenses in respect of Experimental, investigational or unproven treatments or treatments which are not consistent with or incidental to the diagnosis and treatment of the positive existence or presence of any Illness for which confinement is required at a Hospital. Any Illness or treatment which is a result or a consequence of undergoing such experimental or unproven treatment. 10. Naturopathy treatment. 11. Non Allopathic treatment e.g. - Ayurvedic, Yogic, Homeopathic, Unani treatment(s).
