4 European Union - CEF The Connected Europe Facility (CEF) describes an initiative by the European Commission that provides funds for energy-, traffic-, and digital-networks. Financial support takes on two different forms, non-reimbursable grants and contributions to innovative financial instruments. In the transport sector, CEF concentrates on co-financing TEN-T projects with bn ( ). The funding is mainly used to complete the TEN-T core network and its corridors by The vast majority will be used for cross border projects addressing main bottlenecks on the 9 TEN-T multimodal core network corridors.
