1 20 Financial Education Program Report Since 2013, the Bank Customer Service Office (GSAC, for its acronym in Spanish), of the Superintendency of Banks of Panama, with the support of the Communications and Public Relations Division, conducts a Financial Education Program with the slogan Better decisions starting Today. The purpose of this program, which is addressed to the general public specifically the medium- and low-income sectors, micro and small entrepreneurs, and university and school students, is to promote a financial culture by developing knowledge, skills and attitudes that help people make effective decisions and fully exercise their rights to access banking products and services. The program is developed through free workshops raising the general public s awareness on good management of banking products and services, in order to better control and monitor their finances. This report describes the workshops and activities conducted under the financial education program for the period between February and December of the current year, which includes: Workshops held in-house (SBP employees), workshops and activities addressed to children and adolescents, workshops made during the Financial Education Program and Media tour to the interior of the country, visits to companies and various sectors, and workshops and participation in fairs/exhibitions. It is important to note that this year we entered into an International Cooperation Agreement with the German Savings Banks Foundation for International Cooperation SBFIC [Sparkassenstiftung für international Kooperation]).

2 Through this Agreement, the Sparkassenstiftung will provide support and technical assistance in implementing a national education strategy that brings the necessary tools to the Panamanian population to improve their understanding of financial products and awareness of the opportunities the system provides to better manage their financial decisions. At the same time, Child & Youth Finance International (CYFI) nominated the Superintendency of Banks of Panama for The 20 Global Inclusion Awards in two categories for its Better decisions starting Today Financial Education Program. The award ceremony will be held on November 28, 20 in Stockholm, Sweden. The 20 Global Inclusion Awards is a Child and Youth Finance International initiative to recognize and honor those who demonstrate and achieve innovation in financial, social and livelihood education, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurial support for children and youths at the national, regional and international level. We have achieved and broadly surpassed the goals for 20 of increasing the number of participants in the financial education program workshops by 10%.
