FISCAL IMPACT Approval of this resolution will allow City to pass $1 increase in DMV fee onto violators, without this City will incur additional $1 as a City expense. There is no cost to City, as additional $1 fee is paid by violator. The delinquency fee will increased from $29 to $30. 4 RESOLUTION NO. 1 8-R.. RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE SCHEDULE OF TAXES, FEES & CHARGES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR The Council of City of Beverly Hills does resolve as follows: Section 1. The City Council hereby establishes, amends, modifies and fixes, effective January 1, 2018 (except as orwise set forth herein), fees related to special collections processing for delinquent parking citations as follows: For citations issued January 1, 2018 and reafter, fee for a delinquent account for Special Collections processing will be a Department of Motor Vehicle fee of $4.00 and a flat fee of $26.00 for each violation for a total Additional Charge of $30 Said designation shall supersede and prevail over any prior provisions concerning same item in any former resolution, motion or or action of this council, and pursuant to Ordinance No shall also prevail over any inconsistent provisions of Municipal Code. Such fees, permit fees, City services charges and or fees, charges, and required payments for municipal services, use of City property, inspections, enforcement activities or for or indicated purposes, shall be included and incorporated into City s Comprehensive Schedule of Taxes, Fees & Charges. Section 2. The City Council is taking action only on those fees, permit fees, City service charges, and or fees, charges, and required payments for municipal services, use of City property, inspections, enforcement activities or for or indicated purposes, as modified as set forth herein. The City Clerk shall certify to adoption of this resolution and shall cause this resolution and his certification to be entered in Book of Resolutions of City Council of this City. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED Pur ose To inform parking and toll agencies Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will increase administrative service fee (ASF) that DMV charges parking and toll agencies for recording Notice of Delinquent Parking/Toll Violation. that B ac groun k d Assembly Bill tab) 516 (Chapter 90, Statutes of 2016) requires DMV, on or before January 1, 2019, to develop a system that allows a dealer or lessor-retailer, wholesale dealers, and auto auctions to electronically report sale of a vehicle and provide a temporary license plate at time of sale to a vehicle sold without permanent license plates. AB 516 authorizes DMV to prefund implementation of new system through an increase in existing ASF charged to parking and toll agencies for recording unpaid parking and toll citations on vehicle registration record. New Information Effective January 1, 2018, DMV will increase existing $3 ASF to $4 for recording Notice of Delinquent Parking/Toll Violation on vehicle registration record.
