Alberta Central is the first national credit union central to join the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada s (CDF) Breaking New Ground Campaign by pledging 63,000 per year for three years towards building thriving global communities through co-operatives. Bill 32, the Credit Union Amendment Act, is the first major amendment to credit union legislation in 30 years and will serve to further enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of Alberta credit unions, which in turn will provide further benefits to Albertans and Alberta businesses and the provincial economy. As I learned more about the credit union model, I was happy to find that a financial institution shared my values-based approach to business. Gerrit, Alberta credit union member and business owner
