1 THE AIESEC GLOBAL PROGRAMMES MEMBER CONTRACT This agreement (the "Agreement") is made between: (1) AIESEC UK Ltd, a company limited by guarantee with registered number ("AIESEC UK"); and (2) any participant in the AIESEC Global Volunteer, Global Teach or Global Talent Programme (the "AIESEC Global Programmes") (each a "Participant"). RECITALS A. The AIESEC Global Programmes provides an opportunity for Participants to develop their personal and professional skills by participating in a high quality international learning experience (each an "Internship"). B. Participants who are matched with an Internship work on placements for a duration of 6 weeks to 18 months, sharpening their skills by undertaking practical work experience in a diverse cultural environment. C. The AIESEC Global Programmes aims to challenge Participants through raising their awareness and knowledge of social issues and different practices of the host country/territory. D. AIESEC UK is not an employment agency and does not provide work opportunities where the sole purpose is to earn money. E. AIESEC cannot cater for those looking for a particular Internship in a particular country. F. Participants cannot go on an internship within the UK or within the country of their birth (if this is outside of the UK). G. The AIESEC Global Programmes is not intended to be an opportunity for a career move abroad nor is the AIESEC Global Programmes a vehicle for any person to permanently leave their country of residence, and AIESEC UK does not encourage the extension of Internships beyond the agreed time period. If the company or organisation providing any Internship decides to employ the Participant on a permanent basis in the host country and/or territory, AIESEC UK will have no role in facilitating this. H. Whilst it is the aim for our Global Talent Participants (including Global Teach) to receive a salary during the course of any Internship this is not guaranteed, and our Global Volunteer Participants are unpaid, but may include accommodation or travel, whether fully or subsidised. If a Participant receives a salary, it will likely only cover basic living costs. AIESEC UK will not contribute toward any such salary, nor toward any costs incurred by a Participant in connection with any Internship.

(e) The Internship Fee becomes payable by the Participant once accepted and in the process of being matched with an Internship. The Participant shall pay the Internship Fee in accordance with paragraph 5.8 below. In the event that the Internship Fee becomes payable but has not yet been paid and the Participant has accepted an Internship in accordance with this Agreement (by signing an acceptance note), but the Participant chooses or is unable to commence the Internship, the Internship Fee is still payable by the Participant unless the Refund Criteria (as defined below) apply. Participants are entitled to complete one Internship. If a Participant wishes to apply for a second Internship they must pay an additional fee of 250, which consists of (i) a 140 deposit, which is non-refundable (the "Supplemental Fee Deposit"); and (ii) a 110 placement fee, which may be refundable further to paragraph 3(e) below (the " Supplemental Placement Fee"), together the "Supplemental Fee". Unless expressly stated otherwise, all references to 'Internship Fee' in this Agreement shall be deemed to include a reference to the 'Supplemental Fee', as applicable. Eligibility for any refund will be determined by AIESEC in accordance with the refund criteria as set out in the Schedule to this Agreement (the "Refund Criteria"). 4. GENERAL When a Participant is matched with an Internship, it is recommended that they do not book flights to the host country, or incur any other costs in connection with the Internship, until they have officially been matched on the platform and acquired all necessary legal documentation (e.g. work permit, visa, residence permit, insurance and other required documents) to participate in the Internship. While AIESEC UK shall use reasonable endeavours to ensure that the provider of each Internship is of good reputation and standing, AIESEC UK
5 makes no warranty, representation or guarantee in respect of such provider or the Internship they are offering. (e) If a Participant experiences any problems whilst on their Internship, they should first contact the AIESEC Host Committee as soon as reasonably practical following the problem occuring. The Participant may be requested by AIESEC UK to provide reasonable evidence of the emergency. After breaking a match to an Internship due to a family emergency the Participant s account will be frozen for a minimum of three months and will not be permitted to apply or match to any opportunities in this time; or the foreign and commonwealth office website ( states that they advise against all travel, or advise essential travel only, to the specific country or area that the Internship is based in If a Participant rejects an Internship match, the Refund Criteria shall apply save that AIESEC UK reserves the right to withhold payment of a refund of the Internship Fee, even if permitted in accordance with the Refund Criteria, where: a Participant has rejected a match and AIESEC UK, at its sole discretion, considers that the match is in fact a suitable one, taking into account the requirements outlined by the Participant on their CV and preferences; and AIESEC UK, at its sole discretion, deems that the reason for the Participant's rejection of the match is for none of the reasons set out in paragraph 5.10 to above. 6. MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING By accepting the terms and conditions of this Agreement, Participants confirm that they have read the provisions of this Agreement and in particular acknowledge and agree to the following: AIESEC UK has the right to reject any application to the AIESEC Global Programmes. The AIESEC Global Programmes does not guarantee any Participant an Internship.
8 AIESEC UK is not a job agency and does not provide an opportunity where the sole purpose is to earn money. AIESEC UK cannot cater for those looking for a particular placement in a particular country. The AIESEC Global Programmes is also not intended as an opportunity for a career move abroad nor is AIESEC UK a vehicle for any person to permanently leave their country and AIESEC UK does not encourage the extension of Internships beyond the agreed periods. (e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) Participants cannot go on an internship within the UK or within the country of their birth (if this is outside of the UK). Participants will be available for an Internship at all times between the earliest starting date and latest starting date indicated in their profile on opportunities.aiesec.org. In order to start applying for Internships within the AIESEC Database, Participants must create a profile on the opportunities.aiesec.org. If Participants experience any problems creating this form, they must inform their AIESEC Home Committee and, if they cannot solve the problem, the UK AIESEC National Committee. If matched with an Internship, Participants will have to make a decision as to whether to accept that Internship within ten working days of receiving the details of the Internship. If Participants accept an Internship (by accepting the opportunity on opportunities.aiesec.org), but choose or are unable to go on that Internship, their place on the AIESEC Global Programmes will be forfeited and the Refund Criteria will apply. Eligibility for any refund of the Internship Fee will be determined by AIESEC UK in accordance with the Refund Criteria. If accepted on an Internship: (i) (ii) (iii) Participants will be solely responsible for organising and financing the Internship, including any costs relating to travel, insurance, visas and any communications with the AIESEC Host Committee and the provider of the Internship; Participants will be responsible for attending, and financing the travel to, an outgoing preparation seminar prior to leaving the country for that Internship; and Participants will provide AIESEC UK with the dates that they will be leaving the UK, their emergency contact details, their contact details
9 whilst on the Internship and their expected date of return to the UK. (k) (l) (m) If the provider of an Internship decides to employ the Participant on a permanent basis in the host country, AIESEC UK will have no role in facilitating this. There is no guarantee that any salary will be paid for any Internship. Participants must inform their local AIESEC UK office immediately, or at least within thirty days, if they are unable to participate in the AIESEC Global Programmes for any reason. 6.2 The AIESEC Global Programmes relies to a large extent on Participants being proactive during the matching process and flexible over where they are willing to be placed. 6.3 AIESEC UK recommends that Participants keep a copy of this Agreement with them to remind them of the responsibilities of AIESEC UK and Participants, and the administrative details of the AIESEC Global Programmes. 7. GOVERNING LAW This Agreement and any non-contractual obligations arising out of it shall be governed by the law of England and Wales and subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts.
