4 4 Banking should be quick, easy and secure. Paying, your way Whether you re opening your first bank account or thinking of switching from another bank to ABN AMRO whatever your situation, at ABN AMRO you can do your banking the way you want. You can carry out your main banking activities yourself using our convenient online and offline products and services. But the first thing is to choose the right account package. We can help you there. And for students there is the free Student Package (Studenten Pakket). Whether you opt for the basic standard package or the most extensive variant, it will always include a current account and debit card. You will also be able to use Internet Banking and the Mobile Banking app (see page 9). You can read about the main differences between the three packages below. An account package made for you You can choose from three account packages: EasyPay Standard (BetaalGemak Standaard), EasyPay Extra (BetaalGemak Extra) and EasyPay Max (BetaalGemak Max). 5 5 I really enjoy going shopping with my mother now and again, but I always know how much I m spending and how much I have left. Very occasionally I ll be in a shop and quickly use my Mobile Banking app to check my balance.

6 6 Open a current account wherever and whenever you want. Opening an account quick and easy Apply online You can open a current account easily on our website. Once you ve completed the online application form, someone from AMP Logistics (a partner of ABN AMRO) will call you back to plan an appointment within four days of your application. During the appointment, a staff member will verify your identity details. If everything is in order, you will be able to access your new current account within a week. Make an appointment at a branch You can also open a current account at one of our branches. State on the online appointment form which branch you would like to go to, for example one that is local to you. We will call you back as soon as possible to confirm the appointment and arrange a time. Using your smartphone Becoming a client via your smartphone it s quick and efficient and there s no need to visit a branch. Are you in possession of a valid Dutch identity document, 18 years old or older and living at a valid address in the Netherlands? Just download the Mobile Banking app of ABN AMRO on your smartphone. In a few simple steps you can request a current account through the app. Would you like to apply for a credit card or a savings account at a later date? Then you can easily do this online, by telephone or in a branch.

7 7 Paying and withdrawing cash easily at home and abroad. The convenience of a debit card The debit card (Betaalpas) Each account package comes with a debit card as standard, bearing the familiar Maestro logo. You can use your card to make payments or withdraw cash wherever you see this logo. You can use it at home and abroad using your PIN, which you can change yourself at any time at an ABN AMRO cash machine. Choose a PIN that you can remember easily and that others won t be able to guess easily. Debit card limit You can make payments up to 2,500 per day and withdraw up to 500 in cash from an ABN AMRO cash machine. The daily limit for terminals operated by other Dutch banks is 250, and 500 at banks abroad, or the equivalent in local currency. If you would like to temporarily reduce or increase the spending limit on your debit card (up to a maximum of 10,000), you can do that via Internet Banking or the Mobile Banking app. If you would like to increase your limit to more than , contact us to discuss the options by telephoning *. Using your debit card and PIN safely Keep your PIN secret and shield it from view when you use your card. Don t allow yourself to be distracted when entering your PIN. 8 8 Contactless payment Faster, easier payments Contactless payment allows you to make small payments (up to 25) faster and more easily. Millions of people worldwide use this method of payment. How to make a contactless payment You pay with your debit card by holding it against the payment terminal. It s a way of making small payments quickly without having to use your PIN. There s no need to use your PIN for payments of up to 25. You will still need to use your PIN for payments of more than 25. And of course you can still use your card and PIN in the usual way at any time. Where can you use contactless payment? You will recognise the payment terminals where you can use contactless payment from the logo on the side of the device (see photo above). The Wallet: Contactless payments using your Android phone If your phone is often closer to hand than your wallet or purse, the ABN AMRO Wallet is perfect for you. This app lets you make contactless payments using your mobile phone. You will find more information at abnamro.nl/wallet The benefits This new payment method is quick and easy for paying small amounts, and means there s no longer any need to carry cash. No more long queues at the checkout. And you no longer need to put your debit card in the payment terminal which also means you can t forget to take your card back out again. The payment amount is debited from your account immediately.

9 9 Online banking for a clear overview of your finances. Internet Banking and Mobile Banking Banking the way you want From a quick balance check to moving money, and from scheduling payment instructions to checking your credit and debit entries: ABN AMRO s products and online services allow you to manage your banking affairs your way. Manage your banking online with Internet Banking Our personal clients can use Internet Banking for free. As well as managing your day-to-day banking affairs, you can use it for things such as changing your debit card spending limit useful if you re planning a major purchase, or if you want to be able to withdraw more cash temporarily. If you are going on holiday outside Europe, you can easily change your payment profile. The Mobile Banking app If you prefer to do your banking on a smartphone or tablet, you ll need the Mobile Banking app, the mobile version of Internet Banking. You can access all your accounts by entering a code that you choose yourself. This means that in most cases you will no longer need an e.dentifier in order to manage your banking affairs. You can also view your credit card transactions using the Mobile Banking app. Internet Banking means I have an overview of all my accounts at a glance.

10 10 Virtually all your credit card purchases insured for 180 days. The ABN AMRO Credit Card Renting a car, booking a hotel or shopping online: they re all made easier with a credit card. And especially when you re on holiday: the ABN AMRO credit card also allows you to withdraw cash from around 900,000 ATMs worldwide. Safety first ABN AMRO Credit Cards meet global security standards. When making online purchases, for example, you use the Card Validation Code (CVC) and the MasterCard Secure- Code. The ABN AMRO Credit Card is a MasterCard and is issued by our partner ICS. Key features of the ABN AMRO Credit Card: Standard spending limit of 2,500. View your transactions at any time using the Mobile Banking app. Cover against the risk of loss or theft of your credit card. Regular exclusive offers. Insurance protection as standard: Purchase insurance: virtually every purchase made with your credit card is insured for 180 days against loss, theft and damage. This rises to 360 days with a Gold Card. Baggage delay insurance for scheduled flights. Flight delay insurance for scheduled flights. Delivery guarantee: if an item you have purchased is not delivered, the payment will be reversed and you will not have to pay anything. 11 11 Too much money or not quite enough? That s easily resolved. Saving and overdrafts: you can do both Saving without limits If you have money left over at the end of the month, it might be sensible to set this aside in a savings account. In most cases, you can withdraw your savings when you need to without fees. Which savings account is best for you? Direct Savings: flexible saving which gives you complete freedom to withdraw your money while still paying interest. Direct Quarterly Savings: you receive bonus interest on top of the basic interest on savings that you leave in your account until the end of the quarter. You receive this interest even if you only paid the money in during that quarter. Your savings are freely accessible. Capital Savings Account: you receive bonus interest on top of the basic interest rate on savings that you leave in your account until 30 December. Going overdrawn in your current account Temporarily need more money than is in your account? No problem. Personal Credit Line Plus (PrivéLimiet Plus) gives you an overdraft facility in your current account, giving you more financial freedom. The amount you can go overdrawn depends on your needs and your personal situation, from a minimum of 500 up to a maximum of your net monthly income. You only pay interest if you actually use the facility. You must ensure that at least 2.5% of your overdraft limit is paid into your account each month. That might be your salary. For example, if you have a Personal Overdraft Plus facility of 2,000, at least 50 must be paid into your current account each month. Extra money There are also several other ways of getting access to extra money temporarily, such as a Personal Loan or a Flexible Credit facility. If you are looking to make a single major purchase, a Personal Loan might be a good option: you borrow a single sum and repay it over an agreed period. The amount you borrow is paid into your account all at once. The interest, monthly payments and term of the loan are fixed, so you know precisely where you stand. If you want to make several purchases or want a cushion to accommodate unexpected major expenses, a Flexible Credit facility could be the answer. It s a continuous credit facility that is placed in a separate account. You only pay interest and capital repayments if you use the facility. Money you have repaid can be withdrawn again.

12 12 The Stand-By Service. Just in case. The Stand-By Service Immediate assistance in the event of loss or theft Imagine the situation: you ve lost your bag or wallet containing all your bank cards and important documents. Or your purse is stolen. It can happen to anyone. The Stand-By Service from ABN AMRO enables you to take care of the most important things with one phone call to our free hotline. We will immediately block access to all your debit cards, credit cards and mobile devices. We will also immediately request new cards for you. Stand-By Service for even less The EasyPay Max account package includes the Stand-By Service free of charge. Your family members living at the same address can also be registered under your Stand-By Service and enjoy the same benefits. If you have the EasyPay Extra account package, you will receive a 33% discount. Benefits of the Stand-By Service All your debit and credit cards are immediately blocked and new ones requested. The SIM card in your mobile phone is blocked. Immediate emergency assistance while abroad. Payment of an immediate advance of up to 1,000 in the event of loss or theft of debit and credit cards. Baggage and key courier service. Manage your information easily and securely with Internet Banking. Reminder service when your travel documents are due to expire. Registration of important information, such as securities. Available 24 hours a day, seven days a week on tel (free within the Netherlands); or tel. +31 (0) (from outside the Netherlands; collect call possible).

13 13 The Account Switching Service makes changing banks easy. Switching made easy If you are moving from another bank to ABN AMRO, it s quick and easy with the Account Switching Service. Your payments will continue as normal. All Dutch banks participate The Account Switching Service is a service offered by all Dutch banks. If you switch to ABN AMRO, we ensure that your credits and debits are transferred automatically to your (new) current account. We will continue to do that for 13 months; experience has shown that a period of a year will cover virtually all of your payments. You will find more information about the Account Switching Service at abnamro.nl/overstapservice What does the Account Switching Service do? 1. We will transfer your credit payments Credit payments to your previous current account will be automatically credited to your new current account at ABN AMRO for 13 months. 2. Direct debits will continue If you have issued direct debit mandates to one or more businesses or organisations, we will debit the amounts concerned automatically from your new ABN AMRO current account. There s no need for you to notify the party that collects the money from your account; the Account Switching Service will do that for you. 3. Clear overview of transferred credit and debit entries Your ABN AMRO bank statement will show you which credits and debits have been rerouted via the Account Switching Service. They will be marked Account Switching Service via (number of your old current account).

14 14 What do you need to do yourself? 1. Apply for new products or services If you need a debit card, credit card or Internet Banking with your new current account, you should apply for these from ABN AMRO. You should cancel the products from your old bank that you no longer use. 2. Pass on your new account number The Account Switching Service stops after 13 months. Make sure you give your new account number before then to businesses and organisations from which you receive payments, such as your employer. You can use the Account Switching Card from ABN AMRO for this. You will find it at abnamro.nl/overstapservice 3. Schedule standing orders Your old bank will send you a list of standing orders that will be cancelled. You can use this list to schedule standing orders from your new bank account. 4. Update your giro collection forms (acceptgiro) If your giro collection forms still show your old account number, you can change it to the new account number. ABN AMRO helps make the switch even easier There are a few things you need to bear in mind before the Account Switching Service begins. 1. Make sure you are not overdrawn If your old account is in debt, make sure you compensate this before the Account Switching Service starts. 2. Transfer any loans If you have loan arrangements with your old bank, contact ABN AMRO. Our advisors will be happy to explain how you can transfer the loan. 3. Transfer your funds If you still have funds on your old account, transfer them to your new account at ABN AMRO. 4. Apply for new products If you still have products from your old bank, ask what ABN AMRO can offer.
