4 FREE ZONES General information Number of active companies in Free Zones Main sectors of activity -In 2009, the free zone of the port of Tanger welcomed 78 companies. -In 2009, the Tanger export processing zone hosted 475 businesses. List of companies : Light processing and service industries; agrifood; textile and leather; Chemistry and parachemistry; metallurgy, mechanics, electronics and services related to these activities; automotive suppliers. Total job numbers jobs in 2006 The free Zone of the port of Tanger had in workers, including 90% of women. The Tanger Export processing Zone totalled direct jobs in By 2020, the special agency Tanger Méditerranée (TMSA) foresees the creation of jobs throughout the network of free zones in the region. Domestic investment in the free trade of export of Tanger represent 9.5% of the total. The Spanish, with 20% of investments, are the first investors in the TFZ, followed by French (19%), Japanese (13%) and Moroccans (9%). In detail: Exemption of the fees registration and of stamp for the constitution or the increase in the capital and for acquisitions of the grounds (Article 27). Exemption of the tax of the licences during 15 years (Article 28). Exemption of the urban tax during 15 years (Article 29). Exemption of the corporation tax during 5 years and reduction of the rate with 8,75% for the 10 following consecutive exercises (Article 30). Exemption of the tax on the products of the actions, the partnership shares and comparable incomes versed for the non-residents. Exemption of the VAT on the goods (Article 33). The customs mode: Exemption of the rights of importation (Article 21). Exemption of the taxes and import surcharges (Article 21). Exemption of the taxation of consumption, the production and/or the export of the goods (Article 22 and 23). Simplified customs procedures (Article 24). No exchange control: The free zone of Tangier is not subjected to the legislation of the control of the foreign trade and the exchanges (Article 25). 4

Located between Kénitra and Sidi Yahya du Gharb, 40 km from the north of Rabat, in the axis Casablanca-Rabat-Tanger Near the Casablanca s Airport (Nouaceur) 344 ha Activities: agribusiness; textiles and leather; metallurgical industries; mechanical, electrical and electronic industries (automotive); chemical industries. Phase 1 : 65 ha (125 hectares envisaged with final) Near the Tanger-Med port ha This zone is the site of Renault: 314 hectares with direct jobs and indirect jobs. Project: Zone franche de Laayoune Project: Zone franche d'exportation de Bettouya Project: Zone franche de Chrafate Laayoune This project is planned for The site will be divided into two: Laayoune I on a plot of 34.3 hectares and Laayoune II on 109 ha. Agri-food industries; freezing, treatment and processing of the products of the sea, as well as agricultural products; textiles and leather; metallurgical industries; mechanical, electrical and electronic industries; plastics and packaging industries.
