3 The Thermal Account Thermal Account MD Renewable Energy for Heating & Cooling Support Scheme Objectives: energy efficiency improvements in existing public buildings; improving the energy performance of thermal systems for space heating and domestic hot water production.

4 Thermal Account Advantages an opportunity to improve energy efficiency in both the private and the public sector; a job opportunity for technicians; a support for the construction industry and the energy services sector (E.S.Co.); environmental benefits for the entire community. 4

5 The Thermal Account Thermal Account 2.0 MD News on: increase of the maximum size of eligible plants; simplify the access procedure; increase the variety of interventions.

6 Thermal Account Beneficiaries Eligible subjects: public administrations; private subjects: individuals, apartment block owners, private companies and agricultural enterprises. Beneficiaries may implement the actions via an ESCo.

7 Thermal Account Eligible Projects B Systems for the production of thermal energy from renewables and/or high-efficiency systems replacement of existing heating systems with heat pumps or biomass boilers, hybrid systems; replacement of existing boilers with heat pump boilers; installation of solar thermal systems, also for solar cooling.

8 Thermal Account Duration and funds The decree allocates funds for a maximum of 900 M /year: 200 millions for projects by public administrations; 700 millions for projects by private subjects. Incentive is provided annually, from 2 to 5 years, depending on the project. In the case of contribution 5000 incentive in 1 payment.

9 Thermal Account Calculation of the incentive Incentives are calculated throught specific algorithms, (not exceeding 65% of eligible expenses), in funcion of: plant size; estimated potential of the plant; climatic area; coefficients of produced energy enhancement; reward ratios (+20% or +50%).

11 Tax deduction of 65% L (National Budget Law 2007) L.D tax deduction from personal or corporate income taxes, no tax credit; deduction in 10 years; range from to euros; co-owners who belongs to a no tax area could transfer receivables to suppliers.

12 Tax deduction of 65% Interested buildings existing; any real estate register category is eligible; also buildings classified as «collabenti» units; heated.

13 Tax deduction of 65% Beneficiaries Tax payers, who pay the intervention and are: owners/ holders/cohabitants; public and private entities not pursuing business activities; public housing institutes.
