PURPOSE Reissue handout for financial workers and job counselors to use with participants. This bulletin replaces bulletin # which expired on September 30, ACTION/DUE DATE Please read and implement effective upon receipt. BACKGROUND The Work Will Always Pay With handouts were last issued in bulletin # This bulletin replaces bulletin # which expired September 30, Please utilize previously copied handouts from bulletin # until reprints are needed. The handouts reflect no change in the standards, family wage levels and food portions for household sizes The cash portion remains the same for all household sizes. The ings disregard remains 37% of gross income. The child care co-pays have been upded based on the revised minimum gross ings needed to exit. Co-pays have decreased slightly for household sizes 4, 7, and 9. In order to meet the federal Work Participion Re (WPR) a single caregiver whose ngest child is under six years of age must work 87 hours per month or be in other activities th count towards the required 87 hour WPR requirement. The WPR requirement for a single caregiver whose ngest child is six years of age or older is 130 hours of counted activities per month. Although these charts are approxime, they may be helpful to determine how working will affect a participant s assistance. II. IMPLEMENTATION Provide handouts to participants to help them understand the benefit of increased ings and explain how income can be increased even more through tax credits. Advise families to take advantage of free tax preparion sites available stewide between February 1 and April 15 of each year. III. AUTHORITY Minnesota Stutes, section 256J.24, subdivisions 5, 5a, 7 and 10. IV.
