1 Random Lengths issue of April 27, 2018 In what way do you expect the new federal tax package to impact your net income in 2018 and that of your co-workers? Midwest I expect net income to go up a little in 2018 from the new federal tax package. I'm would expect some of my co-workers would be able to see an increase as well. Income up, and upgrade equipment. I expect to retain more earnings and increase the salaries/hourly rate of all employees. I will also enhance 401(k) retirement contributions. Overall, more take home pay for all and more resources remaining within the company for capital improvements. Unsure. The tax break is basically offsetting the increase to the employees increase in Health Insurance. So no change from I expect some capital investment and wage increases. My net income due strictly to the tax changes should increase by about 20%. My co-workers (employees') net income should increase 3-5%. Not sure. Hopefully it increases the take home amounts for everyone. After the long recession any increases are very welcome and well received! Hopefully in positive way... the weekly paycheck won't help much for employees, but maybe at the end of the year we won't have to pay as much in taxes. It can only help. Increase of 5-7%. South Is about time The difference is about $20 per week. A little extra take home. Hope for raises! Not sure yet. It has already increased the take home pay of EACH EMPLOYEE!! I see this as more $$ for them to spend increasing sales tax. Do not really know yet. Positive impact, more money to spend. Will be good for 401K plans. However, inflation will eat into some of the gains made in salaries and 401K's. Raise it. West Very little. For the better. Increase in take home pay. If it makes the country as a whole more prosperous then we should benefit. We are in California so most of the harm we get from government is at the state, not federal level. Increase take home. I'm expecting everybody will see an increase in net income, but time will tell. Judging by some of the calculators available, I would assume 5% less taxes for me. Don't really understand it. 4 How significantly to you anticipate the finalized duties on Canadian softwood lumber exports to the U.S. to affect your compensation this year? How significantly to you anticipate the finalized duties on Canadian softwood lumber exports to the U.S. to affect your compensation this year? Midwest The duties mean higher prices and lower margins but the same margin dollars. Normally this works against any bonus I may be working to achieve. Unsure. Minimally. Higher costs means higher sales and higher margins ;however employees are all looking for increases as they have been scarce the past 8 years and they hear the big corporations are giving bonuses so some think lumber dealers fall in the same category. Very little effect on my compensation and only indirectly as it relates to gross profit. I do not expect the duties to affect my compensation. If there's a big crash this spring, it could drastically affect my compensation. Caution and buy as we go is the only protection that we have. Should be a positive. making prices to high... Not sure yet. Do not know yet. Who knows? Not sure. Higher costs mean higher sales which equates to higher profits. West Zero. It will have no affect. Higher prices should make our business more profitable so my bonus should go up. Very little. All ships rise with the tide. Greatly we are only 40 miles from the boarder. No impact. Very significantly. Western Canada Likely not at all. This could be significant - higher prices generally make revenue targets easier to achieve and provide a better bonus and potential.
