7 Foreword As of 2012 a new method of counting has been adopted. From now on remunerated and unremunerated employees are counted. This leads to a statistical break point from The previous databases only took into consideration remunerated employees. This report shall outline the employment situation in metropolitan France and in overseas departments, countries and communities (DOM, POM, COM) in the FBA Banks in It is based on the employment survey conducted by the French banking association on all the FBA Banks. Workforce definition The recorded workforce by the FBA surveys corresponds to the staff of each banking company in metropolitan France and overseas departments, countries and communities (DOM, les POM et les COM). Subsidiaries established in the overseas territories and abroad are excluded. Geographical area : Metropolitan France, DOM (overseas departments), POM (overseas countries), COM (overseas communities). Socio-economic area : FBA formal agreements. Are included in the workforce : staff on sick leave or maternity leave, staff undergoing a training course (CIF and DIF), seconded staff working for another company in France or abroad and expatriate workers; that is to say staff hired in France by a company established in France but working abroad and seconded staff working abroad but who remaining on the subordination of the company established in France even if they have an employment contract with the company established abroad. staff whose apprenticeship or professional internship contract turned into permanent or fixed-time contract, staff whose contract has been suspended. Are not included in the worforce : summer jobs, students hired via an internship agreement, temporary workers. Considered workforce : Each employee registered on December 31st 2012 (remunerated or unrenumerated), who belongs to an FBA member and who is under the banking collective agreement, who is a permanent or a fixed-term employee, who works full or part time. 7
