Welcome! It is great to have you as part of the Iowa Ministry Network Team! As we all pull together, All things are possible. The enclosed material is meant to help you get to know the Iowa Ministry Network, how to support IMN financially, and how the IMN budget is structured. Please look it over carefully. If you have further questions, please don t hesitate to ask! Dave Beroth, Executive Treasurer, and Brad Thomas, Iowa Ministry Network Business Administrator, are ready to respond to any questions or concerns you may have concerning the Iowa Ministry Network Finances. Again, we are so glad to welcome you to the Iowa Ministry Network and look forward to serving with you! ASSE MBLIE S O F GO D BUENA VISTA COURT URBANDALE, IA (P) (515) (F) (515)
Iowa Ministry Network To have the endorsement of the Iowa Ministry Network for meetings, churches, and credentials, all ministers are directed to the following policy: 1. Each minister should recognize his or her obligation to contribute to the Iowa Ministry Network, on a weekly or monthly basis, ministerial dues equal to a tithe of his or her ministerial income. 2. Foreign missionaries and military chaplains will be obligated to contribute to the support of the Iowa Ministry Network according to General Council policy. 3. Evangelists, those serving at the National Leadership and Resource Center, and those serving on the faculties of Assemblies of God schools (or schools acceptable to the General Council) shall be obligated to the Iowa Ministry Network for dues equal to 50% of their tithe. 4. A minister with no ministerial income shall contribute to the Network Office a monthly minimum of ten dollars ($10.00) if ordained and five dollars ($5.00) if licensed or a certified minister. Senior ministers with no ministerial income shall have no financial obligation to the Network. General Council Ordained ministers should contribute twenty-five dollars ($25.00) per month; licensed ministers twenty dollars ($20.00) per month; and certified ministers ten dollars ($10.00) per month from their tithe, or as an offering to General Council. All who can are strongly urged to give more than the suggested amount - either personally or through the assemblies they pastor. Compliance with the above requirements relating to both the Iowa Ministry Network and the General Council shall be a pre-requisite for renewal of credentials of all active ministers. If your dues are in arrears you shall be given an opportunity to meet this deficit when you renew your credentials.
Church Partnership It is recommended that each church participate in the support of the Iowa Ministry Network by contributing monthly to one of the following programs: 1. Network Tithe Program (recommended) A tithe of the church s General Fund (less pastor s salary and housing allowance) shall be sent each month to the Iowa Ministry Network. The tithe will be divided among IMN Ministries, Network Development, Camp Operation, Sunday School, Home Missions, and the Youth Department (as indicated on the chart below). 2. Church Partnership Two percent (2%) of the church s general fund shall be sent each month to the IMN Office. This contribution will be divided as in the tithing program. Sunday School 5% Home Missions 25% Camp Operation 25% Youth 5% Network Ministries 20% Network Development 20%
Student Ministries Department Our Network Sunday School Department is a service department for all of the churches of the Iowa Ministry Network. To help with the expenses of this department, the following recommendation is made in the IMN bylaws. It is recommended that each Sunday School shall send in a monthly contribution of at least 10% (tithe) of their general Sunday School offerings toward the expenses of this department. Our Network Youth Department serves our Network in many ways. The following recommendation is given for the support of the Youth Department We recommend that each local youth group send one offering a month to the Network for the support of the Network Youth Department. Each group shall be encouraged to set a goal for Network support equal to at least 20% of their Speed the Light giving. Currently, four student ministries staff positions are sustained through raising support. These positions include Chi Alpha Director, Youth Alive Director, Student Ministries Administrator, and Student Ministries Event Coordinator.
Home Missions It is recommended that each church support the Iowa Ministry Network Home Missions program by sending 20% of its World Missions offerings directly to the Iowa Ministry Network Office on a monthly basis for the support of Home Missions. Ministers Benefit Association General Council Retirement Plan: Joint Participation It is recommended that the church regularly contribute an amount equal to 6% of the minister s salary, and that the pastor contribute at least 1% of his or her salary. Example: If contributions amounted to $10.00 per month for 30 years, you would net $17, For those who are members of MBA and who contributed a minimum of $50 tithe to the Iowa Ministry Network per quarter, the Iowa Ministry Network will contribute 5% of that amount into your account. For more information, see the enclosed packet from AG Financial Services or contact Brad Thomas at the Iowa Ministry Network at (515) or bthomas@ imnag.org. Thank you for your faithful monthly support!
