1 February 7, 2018 Re: Changes to the Arizona Board of Regents 403(b) Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) To Arizona Board of Regents 403(b) ORP Participants: Arizona University System is committed to periodically reviewing the retirement savings plans to make sure they continue to help you meet your retirement and financial goals. Among the things considered are the ranges of investment options available through the plans, investment option performance and value. As a result of a recent review, Arizona University System has made updates to the investment options to the 403(b) ORP investment lineup as outlined in this notice. As you recall, this plan has been frozen to new contributions. These additional funds will be available to participants with an account at TIAA on or after March 29, Revisions are also being made to the Arizona Board of Regents Optional Retirement Plan and the Arizona University System Voluntary 403(b) Plan. If you participate in these plans, a separate communication will be provided. What Do I Need to Do? You do not need to do anything. The changes outlined in this document will occur with no action required from you. To help you better understand the updates taking place: Review the enclosed schedule of events to attend an al session at your campus outlining all the updates to your plan. Schedule a one-on-one appointment with a TIAA representative to review your investments and get answers to any questions you may have. You can set an appointment with TIAA online at or call If you would like to request changes to your account with TIAA or move assets into the new investment options, you can access your account online at or call , weekdays from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., or Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. MT. 3 Share Class Changes When the market closes, (generally 2:00 p.m. MT) on March 29, 2018, the T. Rowe Price Retirement investment options will be replaced by the lower-cost T. Rowe Price Institutional investment options. Assets and future contributions Any assets and future contributions to the affected investment options will be directed to the Institutional Share Class of the same funds. Investment strategies for the Institutional Share Class are the same as those of the current Retirement Share Class. If you are currently contributing to or have assets in the investment options in the left-hand column below, you can change your investment options at any time, or your assets and any future contributions will be invested in the replacement options on March 29, 2018, as shown below. 4 What are target-date funds? A target-date fund is a fund of funds, primarily invested in shares of other mutual funds. The fund s investments are adjusted from more aggressive to more conservative over time as the target retirement date approaches. The principal value of a target-date fund is not guaranteed. The target date represents an approximate date when investors may plan to begin withdrawing from the fund. Also, please note that the target-date fund is selected for you based on your projected retirement date (assuming a retirement age of 65).
