6 FEBRUARY THE ROLE OF THE DOLLAR IN EMERGING MARKETS Roundtable with Steve Hanke, Professor of Applied Economics, Johns Hopkins University 12 February, New York As the Federal Reserve raises rates, the global impact of the dollar s position can be seen to crystalise in emerging economies like Argentina and Turkey. Steve Hanke will discuss the effects of US monetary policy on emerging markets and the dollar s role. CENTRAL BANKS AND SUPERVISORY TECH A seminar on strengthening financial stability 15 February, London This seminar brings together central bankers, supervisors, private sector market participants and financial regulatory experts. The launch includes a keynote presentation and panel discussion on the findings of the research. ASSESSING GENDER BALANCE IN FINANCE LECTURE Gender Balance Index launch in collaboration with the World Bank and International Monetary Fund April, Washington In collaboration between OMFIF, the World Bank and IMF, this meeting highlights the importance of gender balance in public and private financial institutions and sets out how gender diversity can be achieved in a historically male-dominated field.
