The benchmark indices Dow Jones and S&P5 inched up 1.1% and 1.3% respectively. Investor sentiment remained upbeat as 76% of the companies (of the two-thirds of S&P5 constituents that have reported earnings for the last quarter) surpassed earnings estimates. The Euro Stoxx 5 gained.92% on Friday. CAC and DAX added 1% and.5% respectively. Asian markets were up on Friday. Japan s Nikkei 225 climbed 2.2% as yen dropped.7% against dollar. Meanwhile, Shanghai Composite Index increased % as China s markets opened post Lunar New Year holidays. South Korea s KOSPI too inched up %. GCC markets stayed in the green zone on Thursday. The Dubai and Abu Dhabi indices moved up 1.5% and.7% while Saudi Arabia s TASI advanced.3%. Qatar s benchmark DSM Index added.5% on the back of strong performance of banking and telecom sectors.
