10 Notes to the Accounts 5 Ceylinco Insurance PLC is liable to income tax at the rate of 28% in terms of the Inland revenue Act,No.10 of 2006 and subsequent amendments thereto. 6 A total transfer of surplus of Rs.4,500,000,000/- arising out of the statutory valuation has been made to the shareholders out of the business of Life Insurance. Details are as follows: Interim Transfer of surplus 1,637,602,194 Final Transfer of surplus 2,862,397,806 Total Transfer of surplus 4,500,000,000 Further, the Company has performed Liability Adequacy Test as required by SLFRS-4 Insurance contracts at the end of the year. 7 The Board of Directors had proposed a Final dividend of Rs per share (Rs. 726,398,200 /-) for the year ended 31st December, which was approved by the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting held on 21st April and paid subsequently. 8 No circumstances have arisen since the last Balance Sheet date which would require adjustments to or disclosure in the Interim Financial Statements other than those disclosed in above Note No There has not been a significant change in the nature of the Contingent Liabilities and Contingent Assets which were disclosed in the Annual Report for the year ended 31st December. 10 The nature of Related Party transactions in the period under review is similar to those reported in the Annual Report in Year.
