Whilst the cover benefits provided under each plan are extensive, there are a few items that are not covered: Pre-existing medical conditions any condition that you can reasonably be expected to know about prior to the date on which your cover commences Treatment that is not medically necessary Experimental treatment Injury sustained whilst participating in organized, professional and/or amateur sports Cosmetic surgery Treatment, purchase and fitting of false teeth Injury sustained whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs Congenital abnormalities Self inflicted injuries Sexually transmitted diseases Services of a convalescent home, a hospice and healthcare at home. As a benefit of your Contractors International Health Plan, you will be provided with access to Red24 s webportal providing details of country-specific risk information. You will be able to access travel safety tips and advice and up-to-the-minute information on civil unrest, natural hazards and travel disruptions for hundreds of countries and cities worldwide. Red24 s crisis support teams are on hand 24/7 on a global basis to coordinate activities should you need to use the Emergency Non-Medical Evacuation benefit. Best Doctors is an independent organisation that exists to supplement the healthcare options available to patients around the clock and around the world. If you receive an uncertain diagnosis or require a second medical opinion on a proposed treatment plan, you can access the service of Best Doctors. They will be able to arrange a review of your medical diagnosis and treatment plan with a world class specialist in a field that relates to your specific medical condition. Founded in the UK in 1991, the Blood Care Foundation is a charitable, not-for-profit organisation that can provide properly screened blood in an emergency. Should you be badly injured or require a blood transfusion, the Foundation has access to a global network of blood banks, enabling it to provide blood to almost any location in the world within hours, subject to the availability of scheduled air services.

6 How to apply for cover When you have decided what cover is suitable for you, simply complete an application form and forward it to us either by , fax or post along with your payment instructions. We ask you to give only basic information about yourself and any members of your family you wish to insure; we will not ask you to give details of your medical history. Your new policy will not cover treatment for any medical condition which existed prior to the start of cover. This relates not only to those conditions for which you had already received a firm diagnosis but also to treatment of any medical condition for which you actually had symptoms, even though no diagnosis had been attached to those symptoms. All that matters is that you know, or ought reasonably to have known, that something was wrong even if you had not consulted a doctor. However, after a two-year period of continuous cover has elapsed, cover may be available for those pre-existing medical conditions which were excluded at the start of your new policy. This will be subject to the written agreement of the plan underwriter and on the basis that you have not had any medical treatment or any medical advice, or taken any drugs or medicine, or followed any special diets.
