5 Time to sell before funding ends The allowable subsidy to be written for the industry on RY 2011 Livestock is $20 million. The industry has currently written $12.7 million in Livestock including Livestock Gross Margin. Although additional funds have become available there could still be a lack of funding later on in the 2011 reinsurance year. Now is the time to sell LGM Dairy. ARMtech has currently written $5.2 million of RY 2011 Livestock premium (including Livestock Gross Margin). acreage reporting dates Proposed Common USDA Acreage Reporting Dates for 2012 Crop Year Based on listening sessions with producers and employees USDA established the Acreage/Crop Reporting Streamlining Initiative (ACRSI) with a vision of having a common USDA producer reporting system. The goal is to arrive at a common set of acreage reporting dates for Risk Management Agency (RMA) and Farm Service Agency (FSA). For 2010, RMA has 54 different acreage reporting dates for 122 crops and FSA has 17 different acreage reporting dates for 273 crops. Only a third of these dates matched, thus requiring a producer participating in both RMA and FSA programs to provide similar information at different times. Subsequently, the agencies and Approved Insurance Providers (AIP) expend significant resources to collect similar information and identify and reconcile differences. The current ACRSI consolidation proposal recommends 13 USDA acreage reporting dates. The primary challenge will be the collection of 2012 spring crop MPCI acreage reports prior to the billing date applicable to most spring crops. Comments on the proposed acreage reporting dates are due February 28, We will keep you posted on the outcome.
