4 Warranties What is a Warranty? A guarantee given to the purchaser by a company stating that a product is reliable and free from known defects and that the seller will, without charge, repair or replace defective parts within a given time limit and under certain conditions.

5 Types of Warranties There are (2) types of warranties offered by Varco Pruden Buildings: Standard Warranties and Optional Warranties. Standard Warranties 3 year Material and Workmanship with (25) year Finish Warranty (provided at No Cost to the Builder/Owner) Note: builder/owner can extend the Material and Workmanship warranty up to 5 years at an addition cost. Optional Warranties 3 & 5 year No Dollar Limit (NDL) Standard Warranty 10 year Panel Rib Weathertightness 10 & 20 year SSR/SLR Weathertightness 10 & 20 year SSR/SLR Optima Weathertightness 10 & 20 year SSR/SLR No Dollar Limit (NDL) Weathertightness 10 & 20 year Structural Endorsement (new) 5

6 Warranty Highlights 6 Summary: 3yr Material and Workmanship incorporates the 25yr Finish Warranty along with all the Terms and Conditions. All Optional warranties are Endorsements to the Material and Workmanship warranty. (see sample warranties) Panel Rib Weathertight endorsement is only limited to 10 yrs. w/ min. 30,000 sq/ft roof area required. Standard weathertight endorsement require (1) roof inspection; trim, flashing, curbs and penetrations are excluded. Optima and NDL weathertight endorsements requires (2) roof inspections; VP rake trim, VP curbs and flexible pipe penetrations are included. Must be Optima Certified trained erector. Structural NDL covers frames, secondary, bracing and VP supplied mezzanine and crane systems. Note: Any special request warranties requires approval from the Warranty Program Coordinator.

7 Warranty Liabilities Note: With all VP Weathertight Warranties the Builder is responsible for labor and equipment. VP is liable for material only. (Builder is excluded from panel finish warranty issues) 7 3 yr Material and Workmanship capped liability is the actual cost of work or one replacement. Standard PR/SSR/SLR weathertight endorsement warranties capped liability is limited to the cost of repair not to exceed $.25 sq/ft of total roof area. Optima weathertight warranty capped liability is limited to replacement of material not to exceed the total purchase price of the roof. NDL weathertight warranty capped liability is limited to replacement of material not to exceed the total purchase price of the building. Structural NDL is limited to the adjusted net purchase price for replacement of material for the duration of the warranty.

8 Warranty Pricing Standard 3 year Material and Workmanship warranty is at no cost to the builder/owner. All optional warranty pricing is based on the total square footage of the roof area. (Ex. $0.05 x 15,000 sq/ft = $750) Each optional warranty has a minimum cost ranging from $1000-$1500 (see specific warranty for pricing) Construction Tech fees are $900 per visit and are priced separate from warranty dollars. Warranty dollars have moved to Additional Pricing in VPCommand with pull down functions. Please include a description of the warranty being purchased. (Ex. 20 yr Std WT) Pricing for each warranty is located on the document itself 8

9 Warranty Process Note: All VP service centers are responsible for issuing Standard and Optional warranties. Exception to that rule is; if special warranty request are needed or addendums need to be added, then the Warranty Program Coordinator will assist. 9 Standard Warranty Process Project Managers/ Project Assistants will be responsible for issuing the Standard Material and Workmanship warranties on all VP orders. Builders no longer have to request the standard warranty. VP will send Standard 3yr. Warranty out as an added value for our customer. Standard Warranty needs to be issued when the last phase of the job ships and returned back to VP within 120 days of the shipment date. Sample warranties are located on the VP Supplemental Price book for Builders.

10 Warranty Process Optional Warranty Process 10 Standard Weathertight: Issuing Standard Weathertight Warranties still consist of scheduling CT visit, sending roof checklist and warranty request, verify roof inspection report, checking with finance and finally issuing the warranty. PM s are authorized to sign standard weathertight warranties Addendums and exclusions will be added by Warranty Program Coordinator Optima & NDL Weathertight: Issuing Optima and NDL weathertight warranties require pre-approval. There is an approval process that must be followed to ensure VP risk of liability is protected. The Optima & NDL Pre-bid Approval Form and the Senior Management Approval Form should be filled out prior to quoting a job. Must verify if the Builder is Optima certified (if builder is not certified contact La Kesha Calhoun for training and pricing information) Same process as Standard Weathertight goes for Optima and NDL when the approval process is done.

12 Warranty Claims Claim process: If you are contacted regarding a warranty claim that is specific to roof leaks against a weathertight warranty; these should be handle locally at the appropriate service center. If you are contacted regarding a Finish claim on the panel roof or wall, these will be handle in the Memphis service center by the Warranty Program Coordinator Note: gather as much information as possible on either situation before passing along. (Ex. job #, location, contact info, specific problem etc ) 12
