CA AB 907 Burke [D] Career Training: Adult Students 02/26/ /30/2015 Senate Education Committee Authorizes the Superintendent Public Instruction to certify any regional occupational center or program, county office of education, or adult education program, that provides a program of training to prepare adult students for gainful employment in a recognized occupation, to legally authorize the center, program, or office to provide an education program beyond secondary education.

CA AB 1174 Bonilla [D] Automotive Repair Act: Violations: Regulations: Reports 02/27/2015 VETOED: 09/22/2016 Vetoed Vetoed Clarifies the specified law under which the Director of Consumer Affairs may adopt and enforce rules and regulations under the Automotive Repair Act. Provides exceptions. Authorizes the Department of Consumer Affairs to establish a system for the issuance to a licensee of a citation when the licensee is in violation. Requires related regulations. Authorizes such fee in an amount sufficient to cover costs incurred with regulating retail sellers. Enacts the Tire Recycling Incentive Program Act that would provide incentive payments for entities using California-generated waste tire material. (34-34) Position: Concerns CA AB 1508 Mullin [D] Workforce Investment Boards: Funding 03/04/ /18/2016 Senate Rules Committee Amends an existing law which requires local workforce investment boards to spend a minimum percentage of specified funds for adults and dislocated workers on federally identified workforce training programs, which allows the boards to leverage specified funds, and which authorizes a credit of that funding minimum for leveraged funds, which include Pell Grants and employment training panel grants. Requires the payment of a penalty for the violation of specified air pollution statutes or specified orders, rules, or regulations be a condition for the continued sale by of those products.
