It s designed to also promote enthusiasm, fun, physical fitness and sportsmanship. The winner of each category advances to the State Meet on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Old Saybrook, CT. ELIGIBILITY: Boys and girls ages 9-15 as of December 31, DATE & LOCATION: Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Eastern Middle School Gym, 51 Hendrie Avenue, Riverside. Snow Date is Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the same location. Participants must arrive 15 minutes prior to scheduled time in order to check-in. Online registration is only available to Greenwich residents. To register online, go to: and select Activity Registration. Registration remains open until program is filled or Friday, January 20, Space is limited and registration is first come, first serve. If not yet provided this year, residents must provide proof of residency. Proofs of Greenwich residency may include: residential lease, credit card bill, bank statement (not mortgage), utility bill (gas, electric, water, oil), cable bill, phone bill (not cell), driver s license, DMV ID. If openings exist after Friday, January 20, 2017 registration will be at the gym the evening of the event. FEE: $5.00 pre-registration due on or before January 20, 2017 payable to Town of Greenwich $10.00 at the Gym the day of event, space permitting NO REFUNDS, unless the event is cancelled. There is a $25.00 fee for any returned checks. HOW HOT SHOTS WORKS: Each participant will complete three (3) timed rounds of one (1) minute each. In each round, the player must shoot for hotspots marked on the gym floor. Points are awarded for each shot made and bonus points for taking at least one shot from each of the five (5) hotspots. You may also receive points for two (2) lay-ups per round. The player must get his or her own rebound, so this challenges the player s speed, shooting, dribbling and rebounding ability. It is as if you are in a basketball game, but no one is playing defense. COMMENTS: Medals are presented to winners, ribbons to other participants. Winners advance to State Finals and are responsible for providing a copy of their Birth Certificate to us in a timely fashion.

The Undersigned, does forever discharge the Town of Greenwich, its agents, representatives, servants, officers and employees from any and all claims including claims of negligence or carelessness, alleging damages and any and all causes of action which the Undersigned may have or may hereafter have, arising out of, related to, or in any manner connected with injuries or damages the Undersigned may sustain by reason of my participation in the above-described program or use of the Town of Greenwich property, facilities, apparatus or equipment. The Undersigned, the participant or parent/guardian of the above name person, who participates in programs organized by the Town of Greenwich Department of Parks and Recreation, assumes all risks and hazards incidental to the conduct of the activity and transportation to and from the activity. I am aware that participating in any recreational program can be a dangerous activity involving many risks of injury. I further understand there is inherent risk associated with the(se) activity (ies) and authorize emergency medical treatment and transportation in my absence.
