Trace out the laws governing hospitals in India. 8. On March 31, 1998, the Cash Book of Parameswaran showed a bank balance of Rs. 4,850. While verifying with the Pass book, the following facts were notes : (a) (b) (c) Cheques sent in for collection before March 31, 1998 and not credited by the bank amounted in all to Rs. 845 Cheques issued before March 31, 1998, but not presented for payment amounted to Rs. 885 The banker has charged a sum of Rs. 100 towards incidental charges and credited interest Rs. 250 (d) The banker has given a wrong credit for Rs (e) (f) Mr. Nair has paid into bank directly a sum of Rs. 300 on March 28, 1998, which has not been entered in the cash book. A cheque for Rs. 200 sent for collection and returned unpaid has not been entered in the cash book. Prepare a Bank Reconciliation Statement.

F.W. commenced business in a retail shop in July 1 st, 1997, in premises for which he paid a rent of Rs. 200 per month. The shop occupied the ground floor and he used the upper storey for residential purposes. It is agreed that one-third of all expenditure on rent, rates and insurance is attributable to such residential portion. The only records he kept from his bank statements, were files of receipted suppliers statements and unpaid invoices for goods purchased together with a note-book in which he recorded sales on credit to special customers who paid him by cheques. Cash received from cash sales was paid into the till out of which F.W. paid certain amounts, of which he kept a rough record and he made weekly banking out of the balance in the bill. He paid all suppliers for goods purchased by cheque. An analysis of the bank statements for the six months ended December, 31 st, 1997 was as follows: Rs. Rs. Capital paid in 4,000 Shop fixtures and Loan (interest- fittings 2,000 free) 2,000 Household furniture 1,800 Suppliers Suppliers for goods cheque for purchased 9,840 goods returned 280 Rent 1,000 Special Rates 300 customers 300 Heat and light 180 Deposit of Insurance 200 other Closing balance 3,190 collections 11,930 18,510 18,510 2 (DHHM 05)
11 Wk 9 F.W. estimates that the total amounts paid out of the till before making the weekly bankings for the six months were : Drawings Rs , salaries and wages Rs and sundry shop expenses Rs, 800. It is also ascertained that as on December 31 st 1997 : (a) Stocks correctly taken at cost, were : goods Rs. 1,720; fuel Rs. 120; (b) (c) (d) (e) The balance till was Rs. 260 including a post-dated cheque for Rs. 150, cashed for a customer. The cash paid to the bank included Rs. 300 from a sale of surplus shop fittings. The insurance premium cover year to June 30 th 1998, and the rates for the period of nine months to March 31 st, Suppliers unpaid invoices amounted to Rs. 2,240 and there was Rs. 80 owing for light. You are required to prepare F.W. s Balance Sheet as on December 31 st 1997, and the Trading and Profit and Loss Account for the half year ended on that date. 3 (DHHM 05)
