We are a boutique house specializing in providing alternative investment services The primary focus of MCC is to provide a wide range of alternative investment products and services to institutional investors across Japan. As part of its proprietary investment activities, Mitsubishi Corporation, MCC s parent company, has been actively engaged in a variety of alternative investments, typically via such investments vehicles as hedge funds and private equity (PE) funds since the late 1980 s. Through such investment activities, Mitsubishi Corporation has successfully developed expertise, know-how, personal contacts within the industry, and a capability to source and evaluate superior managers with respect to alternative investments. This asset of Mitsubishi Corporation, which may be referred to as "alternative investment culture, was passed on to MCC at its establishment in 1999 and continues to flourish and grow today. On the back of such an alternative investment culture, we, at MCC, are committed to serve our client institutional investors by sourcing and offering superior hedge funds and PE funds as well as serving investors with investment products and services seeking a new frontier of alternative investments. 2. We offer clients investment opportunities backed by businesses of a General Trading Company ( Sogo-Shosha ) Being a General Trading Company ( GTC or Sogo-Shosha ) which engages in all-round commercial and industrial trading and investment business, Mitsubishi Corporation, our parent company, is equipped with extensive expertise and intelligence in the field of commodities. Given this advantage, MCC places a special emphasis on providing clients with investment opportunities associated with the commodity markets. Also, Mitsubishi Corporation has been carrying out various investments in business assets as well as physical assets in the course of its operation as a GTC. Taking advantage of these activities, MCC has accepted the challenge of selecting business assets and physical assets with excellent investment potentialities and providing investors with high-value added products based upon such assets through the innovative use of financial engineering and structuring techniques as well as securitization approaches, to meet the clients needs. We, MCC, believe that providing such unique investment services that are backed by the expertise of a GTC will lead to the fulfillment of expectations by our client investors. 3. We are conducting all four businesses as a licensed financial institution As a registered financial instruments firm, MCC is conducting all four businesses: First Financial Instruments Business, Second Financial Instruments Business, Investment Managements Business, and Investment Advisory and Agency Business, with which, we are endeavouring to offer a wide range of investment services to our clients to meet their various needs and requirements. 2

3 Unique Product Lineup Commodity-related Products Commodity Funds One of the strengths of a General Trading Company is, needless to say, in the field of commodities. Taking full advantage of such a strength, Mitsubishi Corporation has developed its proprietary commodity index called MCCI International Commodity Index ( MCCI Index ). MCC has developed offshore unit trusts tracking the MCCI Index passively, and offered to institutional investors in Japan either on a private-placement or public-offering basis. The fund is managed by Global SWAN Asset Management Ltd (MCC s UK subsidiary). Multi Manager Funds Drawing on the strength of its expertise in the area of commodity futures and other futures markets, Mitsubishi Corporation group is also actively involved in the Commodity Pool Operator ( CPO ) business through overseas subsidiaries. MINERVA ALTERNATIVE STRATEGIES, INC., U.S. subsidiary manages a "Multi Manager Fund, an offshore fund composed of selected investment programs managed by North American and European Commodity Trading Advisors ( CTAs ) and investment managers specializing in commodities, both with outstanding track records. MCC is marketing the Muliti Manager Fund to investors in Japan. 3

4 Unique Product Lineup Hedge Funds, PE Funds and Funds of Funds Hedge Funds In the area of hedge funds, MCC has been offering and distributing to Japanese investors a number of select hedge funds as well as fund of hedge funds which comprise superior investment programs managed by prominent U.S., European and Asian hedge fund managers, MCC has a business partnership with eminent overseas investment management companies. The hedge funds and fund-ofhedge-funds products that we offer to investors cover a wide range of hedge fund strategies from multistrategy to long/short equities. PE Funds Acting as a distributor and a private placement agent in Japan, we offer a series of PE funds, managed by competent PE fund managers worldwide as well as by our group companies. For example we provide infrastracture funds to invest in infrastructure assets over the world, health care funds aiming at rehabilitating health care-related businesses, turn around funds which aim for high returns by regenerating companies, venture capital funds which invest in privately held companies, and funds of funds which consist of some PE funds. In addition, as a licensed investment adviser, we invest in these funds, based on discretionary investment advisory agreements. Among our group asset management companies involved with PE funds are Alternative Investment Capital Ltd., Millennia Venture Partners Co., Ltd., Works Capital Inc., and MC Capital Asia Pacific Ltd. 4

5 Development of Real Estate Funds and other Securitized Products Real Estate Funds MC group companies handle a wide spectrum of real estate investment vehicles which includes J-REITs managed by Mitsubishi Corp.-UBS Realty Inc., and a series of private placement real estate investment funds managed by Diamond Realty Management Inc., which invests in a diverse range of real estate such as rental housing, commercial establishments and logistics facilities. MCC also handles the private placement of such real estate investment funds managed by Diamond Realty Management Inc. Asset Finance Products / Securitized Products Collaborating with relevant divisions and entities within the group, MCC is also seeking to offer Asset Finance Products and Securitized Products that are targeted to and backed by business assets and physical assets. The target business or physical assets for this purpose can be anything that Mitsubishi Corporation, a leading General Trading Company, usually handles, including renewable energy, environmental credits, transportation equipment, infrastructure as well as digital contents. As an attempt to provide unique and attractive investment opportunities to investors, MCC is seeking for assets with promising investment potentialities, with which MCC is developing and structuring attractive asset finance products and securitized products to offer to our clients.
