3 P4M: Approximation of EU and Russia s Technical Regulation and Standardisation Systems Objectives of the project: Approximation with the EU regulatory framework and infrastructure on market surveillance for industrial goods Approximation of conformity assessment procedures following the modular approach, designation of conformity assessment bodies and further approximation of legal metrology system Approximation with EU legislation in defined product areas Support to the EU Russia regulatory cooperation through the Regulatory Dialogue established under the Common Economic Space roadmap.

Of these about 600 standards will be harmonized under the CPD along with about 1500 supporting standards (test methods/evaluation of Conformity). 9 Transposition of CPD framework and legislation - Key requirements of infrastructure for recognition by EU Field Examples of Requirements Standardization Standards are of a voluntary status An independent standardization body having a transparent decision-making process based on a consensus principle Representation of all parties concerned by the standardization activity Participation in the international (ISO, IEC) and the European(CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) standards bodies.
