7 I am more confident that this Government is passionate & knows WHAT to do but, HOW to do certainly requires our collective intellect. Jan 2008 Government was ready to address all the problems that is associated with power, but more dollars will not provide light, unless we find a Project Management Solution - President Umaru Musa Yar' adua Jan 2009 We have been able to ensure the return of N350 billion unspent funds but I would prefer those funds were used for designated projects - Hon Speaker Dimeji Bankole

15 Going Forward Recommendations Federal/State Government/Organizations Should Commence Massive Investment in Project Management Education/Training Programs Project Management Office (PMO) should be established under the office of the President/Vice President to Provide Substantive Professional Project Management Support for National Project Planning, Execution, Monitoring/Control and Close out. State Government should follow suite. No Government Contract/Project beyond NGN 50Million Should be Awarded without PMO/Certified Project Management end 2-end involvement/approval. All Tiers of Government, Ministries, Parastatals, Agencies must establish Standard PMO, manned by only Certified Project Managers to oversee the overall Project Initiation, Planning and Implementation Process. Government should encourage/participate in Sensitization of Project Management Approach in all spheres of our National endeavor
