3 SCORED ACTIVITY 3 Scored Activity 3 deals with learning situations 5 and 6 of the guide entitled Finance and Arithmetic. Once you have completed this activity, send it to your tutor together with any related documents. Most education centres reuire that you obtain an average of 60% or more in order to write the official examination. Instructions Fill in the Student s Identification section. Carefully read each uestion before answering it. Write your answers in the appropriate spaces and give complete solutions, as applicable. Knowing that banks reuire clients to make up a financial statement before they give out a loan, she goes ahead and does this on her own initiative. Here is her abridged financial statement. Complete the above table. Calculate Roberta s net worth, according to the information in tbe statement. (5) 2. Roberta s short-term debts are relatively high compared with her short-term assets. The carpenter estimated that the work would cost $3, The renovations will begin March 1, Once he has analyzed her statement, the financial advisor will not hesitate to give her a loan. 5 SCORED ACTIVITY 3 After drawing up her financial statement and before meeting with her advisor, Roberta considers different possibilities for borrowing money. She decides to explore all the options available to her in order to find the most economical solution. To make the best decision, she must analyze all of her options. First option: Debit card Roberta rules this out altogether. (5) 3. Justify Roberta s decision. Second option: LUCRE credit card Roberta doubts that this is the best option, but, as she wants irrefutable proof, she does the calculations. She could borrow money on one of her two credit cards: the LUCRE card or FASTCASH card. 4. LUCRE card: Annual rate of 21.5%. Conditions: monthly payment of $ and balance payable by May 31, with interest charges billed at the daily rate. (2) a) Write the seuence of operations for calculating the April 1 balance. For example, the competency Adopts effective work methods is acuired to different degrees in all subjects, and not in any subject in particular. However, it is closely related to the subject-specific competencies (mathematics, science, English, history, etc.) since it is used to develop them to varying extents even though you may not be aware of this.
