DEED OF APPOINTMENT OF PROTECTOR BY TRUSTEES

For the trustees an existing trust which allows for the appointment a protector to appoint a protector where none currently exists. IMPORTANT NOTES This deed is produced as a standard form for use with existing trusts which allow for the appointment a protector only. It is a document with legal significance and you should not sign this deed unless you understand its effects and are satisfied that it achieves your objectives. Scottish Widows strongly recommends you seek independent pressional advice if you have any doubts about the deed or its consequences. Where the person being appointed as protector is also one the trustees, his/her details should also appear as a trustee and he/she must sign both as new protector and as a trustee. If you are satisfied the deed meets your objectives, please complete and sign it in accordance with the notes in the margin. All parties must initial any amendments or correction errors made to the deed before it is signed. Signatures must be witnessed by an independent person who must sign and then print his or her full name and address. Please send the completed deed to the fice that deals with the administration your trust policies/investments so that our records can be updated accordingly. If you are in any doubt as to the correct fice please refer to your financial adviser who will be able to advise.
