AFFORDABLE HOUSING PROGRAM AHP is a competitive grant program to help people at or below 80% of the AMI attain housing Grants of up to $40,000 per rental unit or owner household and $750,000 per application Sponsors work with FHLBank member banks to submit applications Points are awarded based on commitments made, project characteristics and location Two types of applications 1. Rental Examples: Public Housing Authorities USDA projects LIHTC 20% of the units must be at 50% of the AMI 2. HOMEOWNERSHIP SET ASIDE PROGRAM HSP is a down payment assistance grant program for first time homebuyers $5,000 per homeowner grants are submitted by and made through FHLBank member institutions to first time homebuyers that are at or below 80% of the AMI In 2018 we have $7,800,000 in available funds Members are limited to $25,000 per month so there is ample opportunity for many members to participate Contact a member institution to get their help Tell them Mike sent you! DISCOUNTED ADVANCE PROGRAMS Community Development Program The Community Development Program (CDP) provides wholesale loans (advances) priced below FHLBank s regular market rates to help members finance qualifying commercial loans, farm loans and community and economic development initiatives in the areas they serve. COMMON USES Agricultural loans for operating, equipment, breeding stock, real estate or refinancing; Commercial and small business loans for real estate, equipment, rolling stock, or refinancing; Community loans for infrastructure, public facilities, or equipment; Nonprofit lending for churches, schools, daycares and museums; and Purchase of a participation interest in or actually participating in a loan consortium for CDP eligible projects. The Hart Building in the historic film row district of Oklahoma City was renovated with help from a CDP advance.
DISCOUNTED ADVANCE PROGRAMS Community Housing Program The Community Housing Program (CHP) provides wholesale loans (advances) priced below FHLBank s regular market rates to help members finance qualifying owner occupied and rental housing in their communities. This favorable pricing, coupled with the availability of funds in terms of four months to 30 years, helps lenders extend long term, fixed rate credit for housing. COMMON USES Single family home loans One to four family rental properties Multifamily rental projects Thanks to a CHP advance, Billy Moyle had a wheelchair accessible apartment to live in near his rehabilitation facility in Lincoln.
