Cystic fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. More than 30,000 people in the United States that are affected with this disease. In 1955, when the Foundation was founded, children with CF rarely lived long enough to attend elementary school. Today, due in large part to the work of the Foundation and CF community, many people with CF are living into their 30s, 40s and beyond. Despite tremendous progress, there is still no cure for CF and far too many young people are losing their battle to this fatal disease. Let s Keep Adding Tomorrows! One tasting station, to include one 8-foot table with table cloth, chairs, and sinage at your table. As a participating restaurant of the Beach, Brews and BBQ event, your company agrees to: Prepare a signature tasting size dish or dishes at your table that will accommodate 700-1,000 guests. Staff and provided necessary equipment for your tasting station, which will also include plates and utensils. Contribute a minimum of one silent auction item e.g. a chef dining experience, a gift certificate to your restaurant or basket of goods. Medical evidence shows that germs may spread among people with CF through direct and indirect contact as well as through droplets that travel short distances when a person coughs or sneezes. These germs can lead to worsening symptoms and speed decline in lung function. To further help reduce the risk of cross-infection, the Foundation s attendance policy recommends that all people with CF maintain a safe 6-foot distance from each other at all times while attending an outdoor Foundation-sponsored event. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation has unrestricted financial reserves of about 12 times its budgeted annual expenses, following a one-time royalty sale in 2014. These funds, along with the public s continuing support, are needed to help accelerate our efforts to pursue a lifelong cure for this fatal disease, develop lifesaving new therapies and help all people with CF live full, productive lives.
