The Securities Commission Malaysia makes no representation on the accuracy or completeness of this Product Highlights Sheet, and expressly disclaims any liability whatsoever arising from, or in reliance upon, the whole or any part of its contents.

This product highlights sheet only highlights the key features and risks of this Fund. Investors are advised to request, read and understand the prospectus of the Fund before deciding to invest. PRODUCT HIGHLIGHTS SHEET MANULIFE INVESTMENT AL-FAUZAN BRIEF INFORMATION ON THE PRODUCT 1. What is the Fund about? The Fund is an Islamic equity fund that seeks to provide unit holders with a steady recurring income that is potentially higher than the prevailing General Investment Account ( GIA ) rates. At the same time, the Fund also attempts to attain medium- to long-term capital appreciation. Note: Any material change to the Fund s investment objective would require Unit Holders approval. PRODUCT SUITABILITY 2. Who is the Fund suitable for? The Fund is suitable for investors who: prefer a regular income stream with stable investment returns; seek potential capital appreciation over the medium- to long-term; are averse to higher risks associated with high equity exposure but seek relatively higher returns than GIA rates; and seek Shariah-compliant investments. 3. What am I investing in? Fund Category Islamic Equity Fund Type Investment Strategy and Policy Income KEY PRODUCT FEATURES The Fund invests in Shariah-compliant stocks which have good dividend payouts or have the potential to become dividend yielding stocks and reasonable medium- to long-term capital appreciation opportunities. Shariah-compliant stocks with good dividend payouts are those that have been paying consistent dividends over the last 3 to 5 years, and will be able to sustain this trend at least over the next 1 year. In addition, any active and frequent trading strategy will depend on investment opportunities. The Fund may invest up to 25% of its net asset value ( NAV ) in Asia-Pacific markets which include, but not limited to China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan. Asset Allocation Asset Class Allocation (% of the Fund s NAV) Shariah-compliant equities Minimum 70% or lower as part of a temporary defensive strategy Islamic liquid assets Minimum 2% Benchmark Launch Date 6 September 2005 Financial Year End Manulife Investment Islamic Dividend Index comprising of 90% FTSE Bursa Malaysia EMAS Shariah Index + 10% CIMB Bank 12-month Fixed Return Income Account-i (FRIA-i) Fixed Maturity rate. 30 September 4. Who am I investing with? Manager / Fund Manager Trustee Shariah Adviser Manulife Asset Management Services Berhad HSBC (Malaysia) Trustee Berhad IBFIM KEY RISKS 5. What are the key risks associated with this Fund? Specific Stock The Fund s portfolio comprises a spread of different investments, such as different stocks including listed Risk REITs. The performance of individual stock invested can affect the overall NAV of the Fund. Credit and Default Risk Credit and default risk arises when an issuer or counterparty of the sukuk securities/money market instruments/placement of deposits is unable to make timely payments on profit, principals and proceeds from realisation of investments upon maturity. This may lead to a default in the payment of principal and profit and ultimately a reduction in the value of a unit trust fund.

Country Risk Regulatory Risk Currency Risk Reclassification of Shariah Status Risk The investment of the Fund may be affected by risks specific to the country in which it invests. Such risks include changes in the country s economic fundamentals, social and political stability, currency movements and foreign investment policies as well as other external factors. This is the risk that any changes in national or economic policies or regulations may have an adverse effect on the capital markets and could consequentially have an impact on the investments of the Fund. This risk is associated with investments of the Fund that are denominated in foreign currencies. Any fluctuation in the exchange rate between Ringgit Malaysia and the currencies in which the investments are denominated may affect the value of these investments. Any gains or losses arising from the fluctuation in the exchange rate may further increase or decrease the returns of the investment. Hedging may be applied to minimise the currency risk. However, unit holders are unable to enjoy upside from any currency appreciation. This is the risk that the currently held Shariah-compliant securities in the portfolio of the Fund may be reclassified to be Shariah non-compliant in the periodic review of the securities by the Shariah Advisory Council of Securities Commission Malaysia, the Shariah Adviser or the Shariah Boards of the relevant Islamic indices. If this occurs, the Manager will take the necessary steps to dispose of such securities. There may be opportunity loss to the Fund due to the Fund not being allowed to retain the excess capital gains derived from the disposal of the Shariah non-compliant equities. The value of the Fund may also be adversely affected in the event of a disposal of Shariah non-compliant equities at a price lower than the investment cost. 6. What are the fees and charges involved?
