ARTICLE VII ABSENCE FROM DUTY A. Personal Illness and Disability 1. Sick Leave a. At the beginning of each school year, each professional employee shall be credited with ten (10) days sick leave allowance, to be used when the employee is absent from duty because of personal illness or injury, including pregnancyrelated disabilities. The annual allotment of ten (10) days may be used for illness of children, parents, or spouse. If an employee resigns or fails to complete a full contract year, the annual allotment of days will be prorated. Additional family illness days may be taken as determined by the Superintendent on a case by case basis. I. Unpaid Leave of Absence 2. Maternity/Child Care Leaves a. An unpaid maternity/child care leave of absence of up to one (1) year will be granted to an employee and shall be requested and administered as provided in 1 above.
ARTICLE XI SCHOOL DAYS AND CONDITIONS B. For members of the Professional Staff who are required to travel to constituent school districts, the school day, travel, shall commence no earlier than 8:00a.m. Time allowed for travel shall be from the TBA Center or the home of the employee, whichever shall be closer, to the employee's first required workstation.

The father may also be granted time for child care leave for up to XX paid weeks/days. All stated time would be deducted from the employees sick time.

If an employee resigns or fails to complete a full contract year, the annual allotment of days will be prorated. APPENDIX Family and Medical Leave Act: Entitles eligible employees to take up to 12 workweeks of unpaid, jobprotected leave in a 12-month period for specified family and medical reasons. Employees may elect to use other accumulated paid leave credits for the leave, consistent with normal requirements for receiving approval for such leave. For the birth and care of a newborn child of the employee; For placement with the employee for a child for adoption or foster care; To take care of a spouse, child, or parent with a serious health condition; To take medical leave when the employee is unable to work due to a serious health condition; For an qualifying exigency arising out of the fact that an employee's spouse, child, or parent is on covered active duty, or has been notified of an impending call or order to covered activity duty, in the Armed Forces.
