Permissive Use Permissive Use Coverage Non-owned Vehicle Enhanced/Standard Transportation Expense (Select) / Rental Car Reimbursement (Choice) Any person using an insured vehicle, with permission from the owner. A person using an insured vehicle with the owner s permission will be covered up to the policy limits. Physical damage coverage and liability coverage applies up to the policy limits, less any applicable deductibles. Enhanced Transportation Expense automatically applies for qualifying vehicles with comprehensive and collision coverage. It covers $25/day up to a maximum of $750 for the cost of transportation incurred due to a total theft or other acceptable losses under this coverage. Any gas, mileage, and insurance obtained through the public rental agency are not covered. You can increase this coverage to $30/day, $40/day, or $50/day. Standard Transportation Expense applies for vehicles with comprehensive and collision coverage. It covers $15/day up to a maximum of $450 for the cost of transportation incurred due to a total theft. For other acceptable losses under this coverage the limits are $15/day up to a maximum of $150. The Standard Transportation Expense coverage also applies if the insured vehicle has comprehensive coverage, but not collision coverage. Any person residing with the named insured and related by blood, marriage or adoption with the named insured s permission. Any other person provided the insured vehicle is used with the named insured s permission. Unless an agent or employee of the named insured, persons with the insured s permission will be covered up to 15/30/5. This limitation does not apply to the named insured, relative, or other drivers listed on the declaration page. No physical damage coverage applies and only limited liability coverage is available. Rental car reimbursement is an optional coverage available for vehicles with comprehensive and collision coverage in excess of the applicable deductible. The company will pay $25/day up a maximum of $625 for expenses related to the rental of a vehicle from a public rental agency. Rental Vehicle Qualifiers A rental vehicle must qualify as your insured car in order to be covered under Physical Damage Coverage. Your insured car as outlined in the policy contract: a) any car described in the Declarations; b) any private passenger car or utility car that you acquire ownership of during the policy period and that replaces a car shown in the Declarations. If you wish Car Damage Coverage or All Risks Physical Damage Coverage to apply to the replacing car, you must ask us to insure that car within 30 days of acquiring it, and pay all premiums when due; c) any additional private passenger car or utility car that you acquire ownership of during the policy period, but only if we insure all other cars you own, and you notify us within 30 days of its acquisition and pay all premiums when due; d) any utility trailer you own. However, we will only provide Car Damage Coverage for a utility trailer shown in the Declarations and for which you have paid a separate premium charge for that coverage; and e) any car or utility trailer not owned by you or a resident of the same household in which you live being temporarily used as a substitute for any other vehicle described in this definition, because of its withdrawal from normal use due to breakdown, repair, servicing, loss or destruction, provided such use is with the permission of the owner; A rental vehicle must qualify as a temporary substitute automobile in order to be covered under Physical Damage Coverage. Temporary substitute automobile as outlined in the policy contract: a) is used with the permission of the owner of the vehicle, and b) is not owned by, or registered to, or available for the regular use of, the named insured, any other persons listed as drivers in the policy declarations, an insured s employer, a relative, the named insured s non-resident spouse, a person residing with the named insured, a corporation or partnership in which the combined ownership interest of the named insured and relative exceeds twenty percent, and c) has never been owned by or registered to the named insured, or any other persons listed as drivers in the policy declarations, and d) is being used for no more than thirty (30) days as a temporary substitute for any motor vehicle listed in the policy declarations because it is withdrawn from normal use due to breakdown, repair, servicing, loss, or destruction. Uninsured Motorist Property Damage Car Damage Waiver (Select) / Uninsured Collision Deductible Waiver UMPD is automatically provided with the purchase of UMBI/UIMBI coverages. The collision deductible may be waived if the following criteria is met: 1. Loss is caused to an insured vehicle with comprehensive and collision coverage; 2. Actual physical contact occurs with a vehicle insured with liability coverage under a different policy; 3. The owner/operator of the other vehicle is identified or the other vehicle is identified by its license number; 4. The named insured is legally entitled to recover the amount of loss from the other owner/operator; 5. The loss exceeds the deductible amount. UMPD is an optional coverage, only available when the insured selects UMBI coverage. The collision deductible may be waived if the following criteria is met: 1. Loss is caused to an insured vehicle with collision coverage; 2. Collision Deductible Waiver has been purchased as an optional coverage; 3. Loss is caused to an insured vehicle by the owner/operator of an uninsured vehicle; 4. Actual and direct physical contact occurs between the insured and the uninsured vehicles; 5. The owner/operator of the uninsured vehicle is identified or the uninsured vehicle is identified by its license number; 6. The accident is reported to the company by the insured or someone else on his behalf within 10 business days following the loss. Physical Damage Limitations/Exclusio ns Sound equipment is excluded, unless permanently installed in the vehicle. Coverage up to $50 for tapes or CDs designed for use with sound equipment permanently installed in the vehicle. Non-standard paint is excluded. Coverage up to $500 for sound equipment, unless equipment is specifically listed in the declarations. Tapes, cassettes and CDs are excluded. Loss in excess of $100 per wheel for wheels not installed by the manufacturer, unless wheel type is specifically listed in the declarations. Conviction date / Violation Date Accidents and violations are quoted and rated using the conviction date listed on the driving record. Accidents and violations are quoted and rated using the citation date listed on the driving record. Accidents & Violations Chargeability and Eligibility Period Driver Safety Record (DSR) points are charged for any activity in the previous 36 months. Year Activity Free (YAF) considers a rated driver s activity up to 7 years for reduced rate. For YAF purposes, all activity within 7 years should be added to the quote. Additionally, all alcohol related incidents and suspensions within 10 years should also be included in the quote. Activity within 33 months is considered chargeable. All alcohol related incidents and suspensions within 10 years and all other non-alcohol related activity within 36 months are considered for eligibility and should be included in the quote. The system will automatically determine eligibility and chargeability based on activity entered. The system will automatically access DSR, YAF, and eligibility based on activity entered. Named Non-Owned Policy Medical payments and Auto Death Benefits may be purchased. Premium is based on occasional or regular use. Medical Payments Payments are primary for our insured and occupants of our insured vehicle for reasonable medical expenses. Medical Payments may be purchased. Premium is based on occasional use. Coverage applies in excess of health insurance coverage. Automobile Death Benefits Coverage is optional. Funeral expenses are covered under the Medical Payment limits available on the policy. No exclusion for specified treatment. Must reimburse the company if the claimant recovers from a bodily injury claim. Massage or physical therapy is excluded unless administered by a physician, chiropractor or licensed physical therapist. Funeral expenses are limited to $1000, regardless of the Medical Payment limits on the policy. Must reimburse the company if the claimant recovers from a bodily injury claim. Physical Damage Additional Payments The company will pay the insured or driver listed on the Declarations for transportation expenses due to the total theft of an insured vehicle. This coverage begins 48 hours after the theft and it ends when the company offers settlement for the loss. The company will pay no more than $25 per day up to a maximum or $750 If your insured car has a loss under this coverage, we will pay for resulting loss of clothing and luggage belonging to you or a relative. Maximum payment is $200 in total for each occurrence. The company will pay the insured for transportation expenses due to the total theft of an owned vehicle. This coverage begins 48 hours after the theft has been reported to the company and the police. The coverage ends when the company offers settlement for the theft. The company will pay no more than $10 per day up to a maximum of $300. This coverage does not apply if the insured has purchased Rental Car Reimbursement Coverage. A reward of $250 will be paid for information leading to the arrest and conviction of anyone stealing or vandalizing your insured car. Additional Payments (Select) / Supplementary Payments (Choice) Bail Bonds Up to $250 for a bail bond required due to an accident or traffic violation arising out of a covered accident. Medical & Surgical there is $1,000 limit on medical and surgical expenses incurred by the insured for the relief of others at the time of an accident.
